We stayed her with two children (7 and 10) while travelling around Costa Rica for two weeks. This is the first time in Monteverde/Santa Elena and, as on our previous trip to CR, we have not been disappointed by the hotels or service anywhere. Arco Iris is conveniently located in the center of town and is still quiet. Rooms are... More

We stayed at the Arco Iris as there were few vacancies in Santa Elena the two nights we were in town this past week (Thanksgiving 2014). While it was clean, it was noisy when the wind and rain kicked up (both nights of our stay). Breakfast is NOT included and is an additional $7.50 per person and is an average... More

This place is a gem. I lucked out and happened to see it listed in an article about the best places to stay in all of Costa Rica, and indeed it is. Arco Iris is tucked away down a driveway in the heart of Santa Elena, but once you're on the grounds it feels like you're out in the country.... More

We stayed here for three nights and enjoyed this place very much. Staff is friendly, the rooms are very clean and the breakfast is excellent. The staff is also very helpful for planning tours. We recommend especially Bungalow 12, which is a bit on side an has a nice view into the green.

This was an absolute gem! One of our favorite places! I cannot express enough how immaculate the lodge, grounds, and our cottage was. It all is beautiful. The lodge has an a variety of cottages spread across a beautiful property. Some are attached and some are individual stand alone cottages. Lodging types for couples, families or singles. We were in... More

Room was huge with two levels and two queen beds. Bath was clean and pretty big. Grounds are lovely and natural. Spotted at least 5 bird species from my window. The service was amazing. They booked my tours ahead of my arrival, then made arrangements for me to transfer to Arenal. There were many snags in this process due to... More

We wanted to stay in Santa Elena where we could walk easily to for food, etc. The town isn't that amazing, but Arco Iris really made our stay worthwhile. It is set back from the road with a nice courtyard area. The breakfast is worth the $7 if you're really hungry. We stayed in the cheapest of rooms at the... More

This was the cleanest & cosiest eco-lodge we stayed at during our tour of Costa Rica. It is located in the heart of Santa Elena but you wouldn't know except for the occasional honking of a car. Beautiful gardens surround the different lodges, horses, hens & a rooster are kept on the premises. The cabins are solidly built: ours had... More

For under $100 a night including breakfast, this is a bargain--private cabin that is spotless, in-room wifi, gorgeous private grounds, beautiful second-floor all-glass enclosed breakfast room with lovely fresh fruits and juices plus breads and eggs, all within walking distance to the center of town. No taxi required! Saw a family of capuchin monkeys cavorting three feet from the window... More
