small hostel but we liked it. the rooms were colorful and clean. the breakfast was good and the coffee was some of the best we had during our entire trip. Yorle was very helpful (y muy bonita). her mamas restaurant down the street was good and cheaper than most places in town

Really cute little hostel with a very nice and helpful owner! If you sleep in the dorm you will sleep on matraces, in the double rooms on beds. Breakfast (pancakes with fruits or toast and eggs) is included. I really enjoyed the familiar atmosphere and the sloth you can see making its way on the electric line with a bit... More

Monteverde was our first stop in Costa Rica. Yorlenny and Gaby were excellent hosts. So excellent that we had trouble finding a place anywhere else in Costa Rica that was as awesome for anywhere near the same price. The hostel was simple but, clean and comfortable. Yorlenny lives there and cooks breakfast each morning. The two sisters were very helpful... More

All what you need you will find there. We had an excellent service for a small or low price. Very friendly and helpful owners. The rooms are very small but very clean. If you don't look for a luxury hotel...this is the right place to explore the beautiful landscape of Monteverde.

The sisters who run this place really do their best to make you feel at home. The long list of houserules are all reasonable and I was just amazed by what kind of stupid people there must be able to travel at all. The breakfast is delicious and you can even set the time you want. Rooms and shared bathrooms... More

We stayed at Sloth Backpackers for 3 nights. Yorli and Gabby arranged all of the things we did in Monteverde and Santa Elena, and even had shuttles pick us up at the hostel. I enjoyed a Manicure. This was the first hostel featuring hot water that we enjoyed in Costa Rica. Breakfast was included and it was excellent. Everything is... More

I'm not sure where the other people who wrote reviews on TA stayed, but it probably wasn't here. Granted, the owners were scouring Trip Advisor morning, noon, and night, so they probably try to get the negative reviews removed pretty quickly. I stayed here in January 2012, and think that someone needs to read an honest review of this place.... More

My friend and I happened into Sloth Backpackers because we met Yorle and Gaby in Sámara the night we were planning our trip to Monteverde. Sloth is the cutest hostel of all time- and we saw the sloth! It felt like we were staying at Yorle's house. She was so kind and helpful in planning our excursions/shuttles, sending us to... More
