This place has nice view. But the rooms stink a bit, probably from the humidity and carpets. Otherwise, it has some nice ambience. For me, this is something in between nice place (but expensive) and basic place (and cheep). Therefore, if you have some 5$ more, go for better place and if you run budget, go to cheaper.

If you're looking for a luxury pad, keep looking. But if you're looking for something convenient, comfortable and charming, look no further. The hotel is almost on the outskirts of the town, but with it being such a small town that makes it a couple of minutes walking to the town square. It's also a quiet town, so expect peaceful... More

Jose, one of the managers at Camino Verde / Hotel Atardezer is very nice and friendly. He helped us book our tours. He did his job well. The room is rustic with old beddings, no lamps, no outlets, no decor. The closet is like a hole in a wall, not even enough for a medium size suitcase. The walls are... More

I find this small family run hotel a great place to stay while visiting the Monteverde cloud forest . The room that I stayed in was on the upper level with a nice bathroom, cozy and plenty of hot water. Cristina made my two days wonderful as she helped me organizing the attractions too see the most fir two days... More

The room that I got was alright. The bathroom was not too small, but there were not a lot of area to place your stuff much, but it's ok. They provided wifi. Actually most of hotels in Central America had wifi for customers. There was a small store close to the hotel. There were some restaurants behind the hotel. If... More

Hotel was good but would be better with air conditioning and if the lighting was a bit better in the bathrooms. Breakfasts at the hotel were a nice plus to the stay. Rooms were a nice size. Water pressure was low in the morning or when the group got back from an excursion so the best time to shower would... More

When traveling to other countries, we have to remember that US standards are very different. In my travels, I stayed at five different hotels in various parts of Costa Rica.   Hotel El Atardecer was a beautiful hotel with amazing food. Their homemade bread was absolutely amazing. The hotel was very comfortable and enjoyable. There is a small down within... More

We travel a lot and don't have high standards. If you read my other reviews you would know this. We hate resorts and like quaint getaways. This is neither. We booked at Camino Verde but ended up across the street and Hotel Atardecer. It is cute looking and we thought ok. We got ushered to our room to find 2... More

I stayed at this hotel for two nights on a tour with gAdventures. It was the best place we stayed at during our trip. The rooms are basic, but in very good shape. Everything is very clean. The hotel layout is nice with the rooms wrapped around an inner courtyard on two floors, so there is loads of space to... More

Great hotel! Five minute walk from a huge supermarket and maximum ten minute walk to Monteverde centrum. Good rooms, clean and big. Friendly staff, family hangs around in the restaurant all day long. They close the restaurant and everything else at 8.30 and then it is more or less quiet so it isn't suitable for people who want to hang... More
