We have 3 children aged 9,7 and 4 years and we spent 3 nights here in january. A clean and cousy place with spacious rooms. The lodge is close to the village and we could easily walk to the centre. Very friendly and helpful staff who were eager to comfort us. Delicious and generous breakfast. There are several fantastic tours,... More

We stayed at the Monteverde Villa Lodge for three nights, largely due to positive TripAdvisor reviews. We actually tried to book at another place first, but they were full. Now we are not at all sorry, since we were made to feel so welcome by Heiner and Ana. Their English is not perfect, but who cares? It’s a whole lot... More

We stayed for two nights. Location is good, about a 10 minute walk to town. Make sure you have the directions as it's a bit hard to find. Rooms were adequately comfortable; clean sheets and room. The hotel owners were extremely friendly and helpful. Great breakfast, either local style or western style; local is better! I recommend this hotel to... More

Monteverde Villa Lodge is probably the best bargain in the area. The breakfast alone is worth half the daily rate. This well-maintained B&B is conveniently located (less than 10 minutes walk from the downtown). The rooms are surprising large and feature essential amenities. The owner Reiner is very helpful, friendly and responsive to guest requests. I enjoyed my stay here... More

This place is a fantastic value - the very basics but clean and comfortable. Hot water. Heiner and Ana are extremely accommodating and helpful. Make sure you order their traditional breakfast which is the best we had in Costa Rica (included in the price). The top floor can be loud if it's windy, so bring earplugs, but overall, we couldn't... The MV Villa Lodge is down a dirt road, private and quiet. Even so, it's easy to spot as there are numerous signs indicating its location. The cabin room is surprisingly large. We had 3 beds (2 singles and 1 queen/full) for 3 people at a VERY reasonable rate. The owners don't seem to raise prices during peak season either.... More

We were recommended to Monteverde Villa Lodge by Nikki at Pura Vida eh and found it to be the most beautiful place in Monteverde. Heiner and Ana, the owners, are friendly and very nice. The room we stayed in was beautiful with the gorgeous woods of the country. We were given a lovely breakfast fit for a king and queen.... More

We stayed at the Monteverde Villa Lodge for 3 nights in late November 2011. We wanted a place that served breakfast and was close enough to downtown Santa Elena that we could walk to a restaurant if we wished. We didn't care if we were staying in the cloud forest, since we would be driving there to go hiking. The... More

After reading reviews here on TA, I wanted to stay at this Lodge. I booked a reservation and was pleasantly happy by what I found. We arrived cold and damp after our bus had a flat tire in the rain. We were welcomed warmly and presented with a tray of hot coffee after we checked in. The timing couldn't have... More

Heiner & Ana were wonderful hosts. Our room was large with private entrance. Two double size beds, a tv with cable, a kitchenette with frig., sink, coffee pot and 2 stool bar for sitting. We used the frig for keeping beverages cool but didn't need to use the kitchenette as our hosts provided a great breakfast each morning. You always... More
