Marlenny and Freddy were absolutely great hosts. The accomodations were just what we needed. The room was quite spacious and had a private bathroom. It was a short, short walk to the heart of the great little, hilly town. The breakfast there was delicious and freshly cooked whenever we requested during breakfast hours. My son loved the bunk beds, especially... More

Feels just like home! The staff was so friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts were great. The service was amazing. So happy to found just a nice place to stay while in Monteverde. Especially for two young girls travelling alone, the staff made us feel safe and uncomfortable. One of the nicer places we found in Central America.

This facility is located on a quiet street behind the main thoroughfare, Difficult to find at first. Excellent service - including breakfast and arranging trips. Only a handful of rooms made it easier to get to know the neighbors and share ideas.

If you reserve there, make sure to book one of the bedrooms UPSTAIRS. There is a very strong mold smell in the private bedroom downstairs.... and the air circulation is very bad. We checked in and checked out the same day because we couldn't stand the smell. Not for everyone... especially not people with breathing problems. The kitchen is convenient... More

We stayed in a private room which we found to be quiet and comfortable. We enjoyed the use of the kitchen and met some fun people. We liked being able to walk to town for restaurants and groceries. The staff were friendly and helpful. The area was beautiful and we would love to stay there again!

Well located a few minutes walk from town and the super-market, this is a relaxed, friendly, family owned budget bed and breakfast. The rooms we had downstairs at the front wasn't very big but the ones upstairs with balcony were very roomy so worth paying the extra for them if you can. The dad and son love a chat...almost exclusively... More

Cabinas el Pueblo is just the best place that you can stay in Santa Elena. I'm honestly really happy I reserved in advance to have a room since my trip would not have been the same without it. If ever you are in Monte Verde and need a place to stay where the staff is nice, the rooms are clean... More

Marlenny and Freddy are a lovely couple and ready to help with anything. They booked a tour with a great guide for the Monteverde cloud forest and helped us a lot with bus timetables and directions. The cabinas we stayed in was basic of course but, importantly, clean and with a hot shower! The kitchen area was clean and staff... More

We stayed at 'Cabinas el Pueblo' for three nights and I am so very happy we found this hidden diamond in the rough. It's located slightly off the Main Street in Santa Elena where lots of average hostels are located but it is definitely worth seeking out & heading off the main square. We'd heard several good things about 'El... More
