We stayed here for 5 nights. The good side: nice decor, isolated if thats what you want. Nathan and Edward (bartenders) are good kids. Rodolfo (security guard) is helpful. The bad side: Your are met in an office filled with cigarette smoke and dogs. The owner is nice at the beginning (only) and then dissapears. Not a good idea when... More

Dear Maria, thank you very much for your review, we were waiting for your review here on Tripadvisor, since you went out of the hotel insulting and threatening us. But it is nice to see that after our bad moments with you, you got to see some positive things about the hotel, this is the perfect example for you to... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Clandestino Beach Resort. The rooms were very clean and had a great resort feel. It was nice to come back from a day of touring Costa Rica and enjoy the pool and open air dining room. The location was a bit remote for touring ( 20 minutes back to the main road) but the... More

This resort is beautifully decorated and designed with European touches like down bedding and egyptian cotton towels. Rooms include a large rock waterfall shower although water pressure low. Pool gorgeously designed. The remoteness of this place lends itself to needing a car as taxis are expensive. Food so so, but coffee and creeps delist. We lost power for almost half... More

I'm usually not too picky about hotels, but I was a bit disappointed by this place. There were so many dogs they were dirty and noisy!! They talk about it being a tropical paradise? Not so much... It's more like a building surrounded by other buildings and some droopy palms, not as pretty as described online. Besides the beach (where... More

Dear guest, Thank you very much for your comment, as reading your review it is like you were never here. Buildings surrounded by buildings and people on the beach doesnt sound like Palo Seco beach, probably you didnt walk a lot and didnt discover around the hotel. We are very sorry to know that some people dont get the chance... More

We spent 3 nights here in Feb of 2012, we got a room rate of around $86 on a website. This place is a real paradise! It is a bit of a drive from anywhere but provides a nice secluded place to hang out. We drove there in our Toyota Yaris rental with no problem. The beach is amazing and... More

My husband and I just recently stayed here. We made our decision soley based on some of the reviews online. After our stay, I question the validity of some of these "good reviews". It was at a good price, however due to it's location, it made it very difficult to go anywhere easily. I was surprised at how different it... More

We visited this new beach resort on Playa Palo Seco twice in the past few weeks. We did not stay at the hotel, but enjoyed the bar and restaurant. We had excellent drinks one night, and came for drinks, sunset and dinner a few days later. Our party thought the whole thing was done just perfectly. The tropical decor is... More

We just arrived at Clandestino, checked into our hotel room, and left about 20 minutes later. After being led to our room, we decided that this hotel was nothing like we were expecting. It wasn't clean, it wasn't professional, and it certainly was not in a pretty location (the ocean was pretty - but that was it). I personally didn't... More

This place is absolutely fabulous! Bamboo-made furnishings---bed frame, chairs and tables, railings, pitched celings......and so peaceful. We nearly had the long, clean and beautiful beach to ourselves for a romantic sunset stroll and morning surf walk. HUGE waves (in my opinion). My husband kept going back for more....no notice of a rip tide. The staff are sweet and so cute! We... More
