We didn't actually stay here so can't comment on the rooms but we ate here one way or another every day! It has a lovely garden area to just sit and relax and be served fantastic food!! They do a huge selection of tea and coffee and offer lovely cakes and breakfast food. We would often find ourselves wandering along... More

Never stayed here, just eaten on a number of occasions (I live nearby!) A lovely lush little cafe set inside a secret garden like atmosphere. Perfect if you are in a group - lots of room to all sit in one of the pagodas that are dotted around the outside of the garden. Best breakie value has to be the... More

Friendly staff, good food, big rooms, lovely garden to sit in and a stones throw from the beach. Slightly more expensive than your average guesthouse but definitely worth every penny. We upgraded to the deluxe roof top room on our last night and it was gorgeous!

Walking around Unawatuna one day I saw the silver of a proper coffee machine and that was that! Needless to say I had my coffee there for the next few days. I also had the balsamic chicken salad, I would eat it again. The baked goods were great, home made, we got brownines nearly everyday as well. Service was average,... More

my husband and i were relgiously here every morning during our 12 day stay in unawatuna. the coffee is italian-strong and delicious. the service was consistently friendly and wonderful-can't say enough good about it. ambiance is also excellent, a beautiful peaceful and relaxing oasis. coffee, service and atmosphere-definately an unbeatable combination! the owners are also always welcoming, helpful and friendly.

Behind the beach, all the tourists working on their tan and the neon lights lies this calm, beautiful garden where you can have a decent cup of coffee, an amazing chicken salad or coconut desserts of different varieties, while enjoying a good book or just the calm atmosphere. Clean rooms, aircon, and mosquito nets, combined with a big balcony and... More

We didn't stay at the Sunil garden guest house (fully booked) so we just had lunch here (twice). The tuna salad, the club sandwich and the lemon coconut cheesecake where outstanding! Obviously the best is the real fresh coffee, the only really good coffee we have seen in Sri Lanka..

Stayed one night at Sunil. The guesthouse has a very good location, only a few steps from the beach. The room was also very nice, huge bathroom. Top floor with a big veranda and sea wiew. Under normal conditions, we would gladly have continued to stay there, but we had booked the next days at Kingfisher, allmost next door, the... More
