We really enjoyed our stay at Dickwella Beach Hotel, primarily because the modern room was very clean (and they supplied lots of fresh towels meaning we could do some washing) and the lady proprietor was welcoming (excellent english) as well as the chef. It's nice to speak to someone willing to give an insight into the Sri Lankan culture. We... More

We visited Dickwella in February 2014 and stayed at Dickwella Beach Hotel for two nights. I fell in love with Dickwella. I don't know if it was lucky timing, but we were what seemed to be the only people at the hotel/beach for the time we were there. It was like stumbling across paradise. The view from the hotel lawn... More

I lent the young owner 1000 rupees to buy food for her son, but she refused to return it, saying "I don't know what you are talking about'" and denied the money was given as to help her buy food. This is immoral behaviour from someone in need, who should be grateful for the help she received. Instead, she tried... More

Dear Sisi, First of all I apologize on delay in responding to your review. I'm really sad to hear such a comment if I understood well. Because of your comment is very complicated and can't imagine any story even I have gone through several times. However I want to tell you something about our establishment. We are a Sri Lankan... We loved staying here. The people were amazing! We have never experienced such great service and dedication to making our stay the best possible. We enjoyed the beach and wished we could have stayed for longer. One night was not enough time. The hotel is going under construction, which is much needed. We had a room for 4 so our... More

We stayed for 6 nights and could happily have stayed for longer. The family who own the hotel are incredibly friendly and very helpful. Nothing was a bother. Manori, takes care of most things superbly. The rooms are clean and tidy, the breakfast (included) very good, other meals were also very good value. Jimal (the cook) happily prepares dishes and... We had booked a double room for 3 nights but ended up staying 8 nights. The location is great with direct beach access to the beautiful and almost empty beach (best one in Sri Lanka if you ask me). The owners/staff is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and functional. The 2 persons you will interact most with... More

Stayed here one night and really liked it. The rooms are fine and functional though not exactly cozy. The staff, however, is really nice and helpful and breakfast (included) was very good. The hotel is right on the beach - and this beach is really perfect for kids.
