BRILLIANT! Can't reccomend anywhere else in the area except this! We stayed for a few nights as we were welocmed by the manager, who was beautiful and knew her stuff shame she has a 7ft South African husband! No wifi wasn't a surprise, as you are in Africa. The tents were very basic but amazing very comfy with no pest... More

I have stayed at Murchison Lodge on several occasions and cannot say how much I have loved every minute of it - and the best thing is it keeps on getting better and better. The recent renovations of the swimming pool are very welcome in the tropical heat, the staff are amazing and the food quite simply delicious - with... More

Can't recommend anywhere else in the area for family like this place. The couple who run it are exceptionally friendly too. We stayed at the lodge next door but they were happy to let use the swimming pool and other facilities at no extra cost. Thank you

My family & I were staying at Kabalega Wilderness Lodge for 3 days & we decided to take a look at the lodges around us. We stopped at Murchison River Lodge for a drink. We were welcomed in the car park & escorted the short walk to the bar area. The bar was clean & reasonably well stocked & the... More

We stayed for 2 nights in a thatched tent. The tent was very clean and spacious for a tent. The bathroom outside was also very nice with a stronger water pressure in shower and toilet than in some european countries. The sounds at night are unbelieveable (you can also hear the hippos). The lodge lies near the Nile River and... More

We stayed two nights mid-June and could easily have stayed a week or more. Watching the sun go down, or up, sitting in the bar and dining area is amazing, very serene. The sounds of the hippos, birds, frogs - so great. The view of Murchison River with its hippos is beautiful. The food was delicious, the staff absolutely sweet... More

We stayed a couple of nights while exploring the surrounding area and were quickly made to feel at home. The lodge fits perfectly into its environment, the staff delightful, rooms well fitted and comfortable, everything spotlessly clean. It's simple luxury rather than high-end 5 star with all the bells and whistles but that's in its favour I think. Food excellent... More

I spent a week at Murchison River Lodge enjoying game drives, yoga and massage. The lodge has accommodation options to suit all budgets, the food was amazing and the chance to stretch after a game drive and to get my safari sore muscles rubbed made it even better. The staff are helpful and all have genuine smiles on their faces.... More

We had such a lovely time at this lodge! Facilities are very neat and clean, staff very helpful and friendly. The kids loved the pool and sand-pit. The food is great and we even received a packed breakfast for our morning game drive. We will return for another visit without a doubt!

This was an amazing place. Chris and Astrid have a great team working under them, so the service was superb, but still relaxed and friendly. The thatched tents were really comfortable with proper beds, loos and showers. Food great. Magical evenings looking down on the river, listening to the sound of the hippos mixing with the african music playing by... More
