We chose the Sambiya River Lodge over 2 others situated in Murchision Falls National Park; Nile River Lodge and Paara Safari Lodge. Best decision we ever made. Yes, Paara does trump Sambiya in terms of luxury, but like most "big" hotels, you cannot help but feel like just another tourist/guest. At Sambya, the experience is more intimate, like coming home.... more

We stayed at Sambiya when visiting our daughter and her family in Uganda. We came for the game drive and were not disappointed - it was the highlight of our trip. We picked Sambiya because there was a pool for the kids, which they enjoyed, even though it could use some renovation. (Cape buffalo drink out of it at night... more

This place has so much going for it. Beautiful, isolated, wild location (baboons, warthogs monkeys etc can be seen and heard) clean and spacious bandas (insect free!), camp fire, pool and large bar. But I cannot recommend this to any one due to the disgusting food. Dinner and lunch was inedible and the majority of our group became ill afterwards.... more

My wife and I were in Uganda principally on business, but we had a 4-night/5-day stretch to do something, and we headed for Murchison Falls since that is said to be the best ‘all-around’ park. We decided to stay at Sambiya River Lodge, and then ended up booking an Afri Tours and Travel package. It was one of the best... more

Our group of 5 family friends planned our visit to Murchison Falls National Park in the month of August, 2008. On arrival, at teh Entebee Airport, we were received by our ever smiling Driver [--] Guide of Afri Tours, Kampala, Uganda - Mr. Ally. Afri Tours are also the owners of the Sambiya River Lodge which is situated in Murchison... more

Stayed here two nights on a trip to Murchison Falls. This is great stop on any trip to this part of Uganda. The rooms were comfortable, and away from the bandas, had ensuite facilities. Excellent restaurant and wonderful hosts. Animals roam through the grounds in the evening so once you are in for the night, it is not advisable to... more

This resort is worth the drive. If you are a bird watcher this is an awesome place to see a wide variety of birds. The shoebill stork is found here. You can see the animals just as you imagined it. A boat ride on the Nile to see Murchinson Falls is amazing. A trip to the top of the Falls... more

We took a trip that took us all over Uganda. Sambiya River Lodge was our favorite accommodations in all of Uganda. The room was clean, the staff courteous, and we had the best food during our entire trip. The area has a lot to offer including chimp trekking, Nile River cruises, fishing, and of course, Big Game safari viewing. I... more
