Beautiful site, but extremely overpriced. Recent stay was not what we expected after speaking personally with the owner when we booked our trip, evidently some changes have occured. Breakfast and dinner are basic homecooked meals, but lunch is a whole different story, basic sandwich, bagged chips and granola bars, never saw any fruit. The last day of our stay most of... More

This is a great wilderness lodge, but upscale is false advertising. Tours are fun, we had a great time kayaking. Meals are basic--not gourmet--but very good. Small staff was overworked, one woman wasn't even being paid?! Our heat didn't work, we had no water one day. We had a great time but it's more like comfortable camping than an upscale... More

First off, it's my understanding that most of these lodges are normally twice as expensive; however, that's not much of a comfort at these prices (as a couple, we're talking $800 PER DAY) ... the only way this would be worthwhile is if it includes bear viewing or something safari-like exotic. The food was solid (hearty breakfast), but nothing to... More

we visited lodge in mid june - facilities were very comfortable - individual cabins, yurt for meals and gatherings, area for ball games; variety of ages from seven to 71 - all enjoyed the visit; Hess family was very welcoming, food was excellent; hiking, kayaking, information about the area - all was well worth it.

My husband and I had our wedding at Hideaway Cove Wilderness Lodge. What a beautiful place! Our guests who live in Alaska felt that the view was as incredible as people from out of state. The lodge is very peaceful, and whatever the weather is like is gorgeous. The cabins are clean and very cozy. Jordan, Jenny, and family were... More

Our group had a fabulous time at Hideaway Cove! Everything was wonderful--the accomodations, the meals, the guided trips, and activities. We had a large group and had the entire facility, that worked out well with kids as we had the run of the place, enjoying a loud baseball game, and being spread out in the cabins. The cabins are cozy... More

We travel the Kachemak Bay extensively throughout the year…and Hideaway has simply the best location in the entire state park area! Right at the main trailhead, and incredible views looking into the Halibut Lagoon and the surrounding area. Tons of wildlife…and great kayaking. Jordan & Jenny are amazing people…and their lodge is a VALUE..a Can't miss!

We spent one night at Hideaway Cove with our two boys, age 7 and 10. The place was absolutely beautiful, tucked away in the trees, with fantastic views of the cove. We hiked to the glacier and kayaked across the lake; really this was the highlight of our Alaska trip. We wished we had booked an additional night to stay,... More

Hideaway Cove is truly a secret paradise. We stayed 2 nights/3 days and I'm not sure if have yet picked up our jaws off the floor. Awestruck beauty surrounded us. We didn't want to leave! Jordan and his staff are so generous and fun. The water taxi ride over from the Homer Spit to Hideaway Cove was so beautiful....eagles, otters,... More

My brother and I stayed at Hideaway Cove for 5 days and it blew our minds. The Wilderness Lodge is nestled away in the breathtaking coastal forest, but not too isolated. This lodge is a mix between Neverland (Peter Pan) and Summer Camp. Jordan and his family are some of the sweetest, insightful, and most hospitable people you will ever... More
