We are a group of keen pinot noir drinkers and had a fab stay at Burn Cottage Retreat. The cottages were warm, clean and had fresh flowers. Phill and Rose cooked us the best breakfasts ever with more whitebait in a single fritter than I had thought was possible. Would highly recommend.

This is truly a gem of a hideaway. We needed a weekend getaway in a relaxing and comfortable setting. Facilities were superb. Gardens awesome. You couldn't have asked for more here, really exceeded our expectations. Excellent hosts who went out of their way to be helpful. We will return, next time for more than just a night!

A most relaxing place for a holiday - immaculate cottages set amongst lawns, walnut trees, flowers gardens with the hosta garden to wander through as an added bonus. So many personal touches - linen, books, magazines, DVDs, well-appointed kitchens. Rose and Phil, our lovely hosts, were a joy to chat with and were most helpful. They must be congratulated on... Positively the best accommodation on our holiday. The host (Rose) was gracious, welcoming, and an absolute joy to chat with. She provided us with milk, fresh walnuts from her trees, and free laundry facilities. We were invited to help ourselves to the veggie garden, which we cooked in the very well-equipped, self-catering kitchen. The craftsmanship on these truly charming cabins... More

These are truly luxury cottages: very well layed-out, clean, nice linen, a good selection of DVDs to watch in the evening. Each cottage has it’s own BBQ and veranda. There’s a washing machine on the grounds and mountain bikes to lend. The owners are ever so friendly as they are hard working on the property to improve it even more.... More

It is hard to fault burn cottage retreat. Excellent cottages, really nicely fitted out, generous and pleasant hosts, and such a peaceful location - yet only a couple of km's from Cromwell. A really relaxing and first class place to stay.

We stayed a few nights at the Moonlight cottage which was a highlight for our trip. At night we sat around the gas fireplace and read books. It was very peaceful, a great place to chill out. Books and DVD's are also provided. On the Sunday morning we had a lovely continental breakfast basket provided by Rose with fresh cereals,... More
