Positively the best accommodation on our holiday. The host (Rose) was gracious, welcoming, and an absolute joy to chat with. She provided us with milk, fresh walnuts from her trees, and free laundry facilities. We were invited to help ourselves to the veggie garden, which we cooked in the very well-equipped, self-catering kitchen. The craftsmanship on these truly charming cabins... More

These are truly luxury cottages: very well layed-out, clean, nice linen, a good selection of DVDs to watch in the evening. Each cottage has it’s own BBQ and veranda. There’s a washing machine on the grounds and mountain bikes to lend. The owners are ever so friendly as they are hard working on the property to improve it even more.... More

It is hard to fault burn cottage retreat. Excellent cottages, really nicely fitted out, generous and pleasant hosts, and such a peaceful location - yet only a couple of km's from Cromwell. A really relaxing and first class place to stay. More

Books and DVD's are also provided. On the Sunday morning we had a lovely continental breakfast basket provided by Rose with fresh cereals,... More

My partner and I travelled around New Zealand for a month in December. I am particularly fussy about where I stay, and we do plenty of research before we travel. We stayed at Moonlight Cottage (one of 3 cottages) and it was exceptional. It was one of the more expensive places that we stayed at but worth every penny. It... More

My husband and I stayed at Burn Cottage in October 2010 for our week long honeymoon. From the moment we arrived (to a tasty platter and bottle of wine) we felt totally at home. Rose was a wonderfully welcoming host and the surrounds were perfect. The property is beautiful and we enjoyed walking around the property and meeting the animals... More
