Great people to deal with and nothing was a problem. Amazing location but bring both ya camera and bug spray. They made a huge effort making sure there was no bugs in the unit and could not fault the set up. Great spot for a beach walk and sunset photo's. Thanks for having us! More

I booked Beach hideaway more as a stop-over on our trip from Fox glacier to Punakaiki. I really wish we had spent more time at the cottage. It had everything that we could ask for and more..TV with all Sky channels, Ipod, DVD, hot tub, heater, fully equipped kitchen..Perfect for a honeymoon, no need to step out!! Set in Barrytown... Instantly, upon arrival, we fell in love with the cabin and it's surroundings. Tastfully yet modestly decorated, beautifully appointed and set in idyllic surroundings. We stayed just the 1 night at Beach Hideaway after having to make last minute changes to our holiday plans due to flooding in Golden Bay where we were supposed to be staying. Soon after unpacking... Hands-down, nicest cottage we have ever stayed in. We didn't wanna leave. It looked brand new! It was beautiful and modern and rustic and everything you could want. It was so private and well-maintained. The grill was perfect and we utilized it every second we could. We had an amazing walk to the beach after dinner. And! I almost forgot... More

Please be carefull with Beach hideway. We booked on October 2010 for a 2 night stay on the 20th April 2011 only to arrive and find people in our chalet. Owners first tried to blame us for the mistake and only aggred to refund total price after proving via an email corrospondence that they were at fault. After numerous phone... More

Once again we extend our apologies to this guest for this unfortunate situation. Regretfully their review is not an accurate summary of the situation as it occurred Due to a misunderstanding the unit was double booked. We, Beachhideaway genuinely believed that we had booked the guest for the correct night’s accommodation however due to a simple misinterpretation of the guest’s... More

We were looking to stay at Punakaiki but as none of the accommodation options there suited, we decided to try Beach Hideaway at Barrytown - a 15min drive North of Greymouth & 15mins drive South of Punakaiki. What a fantastic choice - we only had one night but wish we had at least one other, just to relax & soak... More

What a find this place! We loved it! It's too bad we didn't know in advance or we would certainly have stayed longer than one night. Secluded, quiet and relaxing place. Apartment itself was really nice. It was clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and had an amazing view. Very good multi media facilities (internet, Ipod, tv and dvd). It has a... More

Very beautiful spot and a great cabin. We used the BBQ to complete a great evening's stay. Sadly the hot tub wasn't working which was a real shame after a long drive. Very clean, comfy bed and good shower. Only issue was that we didn't see the owner at all and had to communicate through the phone in between the... More
