Wasn't expecting much to be honest. Pleasantly surprised. Food was good enough. Room was lovely. Staff were top notch. My only complaint was the shower pressure which was poor (a common theme I have read about in other reviews). Other than that can't grumble. Would most likely stay there again on my next visit to Newtonmore

Stayed overnight in a family room. Evening meal wasn't restaurant quality but maybe we made a bad choice or were unlucky. Rooms were large enough and we had a decent sleep. Decor is a bit outdated though but can't claim for the money really. We may consider going back again...

This visit was as part of a coach holiday. On arrival a member of staff came onto the coach to welcome us and inform us of our room number. Keys were already in the room doors. Our rooms were in the two-storey block adjacent to reception. There is no lift, but due to the design you enter the block midway... More

Stayed for 2 nights with our 2 kids on an ITISON voucher deal, which was fantastic value for money. Have read the previous reviews, and yes, the decor is a bit 80's tastic, so if you want the latest boutique hotel, its not for you - I quite liked it, reminded me of holidays when I was wee. The family... More

We stayed at the Highlander for 3 nights in a triple share room. The room was a little tired however the ensuite had just had a renovation and was very good, spacious with a towel warmer. There was plenty of room for us and our luggage. The wifi access was limited to the reception and lounge area, and generally was... More

Our bus pulled up the the Highlander Hotel and it looked...rustic? But we found the beds to be comfortable, the dinner and breakfast to be good and the convenience to town and the historic park across the street to be favorable. We walked down to two local pubs (total for the town) and had a fun night listening to the... More

Managed to get away for one night on dinner and B & B deal and our expectations were not very high as we have stayed in some dire large hotels before. How wrong we were, great welcome and service. In this Hotel you have your own table set for your evening meal(no booking times here) just go in any time after 19.30hrs... At the end of the village a good hotel in lovely countryside. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable and bathroom had a large shower, no bath. Hotel was in 3 blocks so dining was in main block. Food was excellent and staff helpful. Popular with coach parties. The only noise I heard was from cars or people walking on the... More

Had a 2 night overnight deal with breakfast and dinner on first night. On first appearance, this hotel looked like a typical travelodge from the outside which catered for mainly bus tours. However, on stepping inside, we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff on checking in who was happy to change my complimentary bottle of red wine... More

Hotel very friendly cannot do enough for you. Breakfast outstanding and eveining dinner excellent too. Staff very efficient but helpful. Recommend highly. Great walks. Decided to park car and get bus to Aviemore then on to Inverness. It was good to sit and both of us enjoy the scenery.
