Booked a 2 night break including dinner on first night, the hotel is pretty big and very retro 70s in feel. It's clean, warm and well situated for touring local area. Room was clean, dinner was a proper plate full of simple home cooked food and cooked breakfast was very good. The hotel is dated but all staff very nice especially the... More

We stayed here on a two night break. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was a bother. The rooms were comfortable and warm as was the rest of the hotel. Our room faced the road but we never heard any traffic. There was a good choice on the menu and the food was served piping hot. It was... More

We (family of 4 which includes to kids 12 & 15), first visited this great hotel Feb. 2014 and again we are back Feb. 2015 on a Ski holiday (via Ski Norwest) . The food as before excellent breakfasts filling , evening meals superb and desert trolley very naughty but a must have. The rooms are a good standard, bathroom... More

This was my second visit to this hotel and I enjoyed every minute. Although this hotel mainly caters for the outdoor types we had a very enjoyable Christmas. The rooms are clean and comfortable and although my room faced towards the road I did not hear the traffic. The food was very good and you could not fault the staff.... More

I stayed at this hotel for two nights and found the staff very friendly. The room was comfortable with a spacious bathroom. The hotel is a little dated but very well priced and offered a fabulous breakfast. The hotel was quiet, in a very picturesque setting and free on site parking was offered. The only negative (and this is me... More

Lovely weekend spent, rooms lovely and spacious and very clean. Only small complaint was the evening meals were quite small portions, however, very tasty. We did also feel quite rushed with our meal, there was no time between each course. Staff were very pleasant and courteous.

Excellent value for money. Food was good and staff were excellent, very welcoming and efficient. The lounge was large, well furnished and warm. Our room was warm when we arrived (much appreciated on such a cold day) and very comfortable. We look forward to going back in the near future.

This weekend was a Christmas present for my wife and I from our daughter. She had purchased it using one of these vouchers from Groupon or something. The other guests were mainly there for skiing at Cairngorms. The staff were all very friendly and the room comfortable.Don't know about the others, but ours didn't have a bath, which my wife would have preferred. We ate in... From the outset the staff at this hotel are to be commended, from arrival to departure they were all friendly and polite. As stated by others this hotel has very dated decor, probably about 25 yrs since it had a makeover, going by the style, although, it can be difficult to balance investment in modernisation, with the loss of income,... Thank you for your review. The hotel rooms and some of the public areas were refurbished 3yrs ago and we are in the process of having our bathrooms upgraded. However as you have pointed out yourself it is difficult to find a quiet period for the work to be undertaken. A lot of our rooms have zip & link beds... More
