As a teacher, I stayed here for only one night with a group of close to 30 well-behaved American high school students and several adult chaperones on an EF Tour of England and Scotland.
Rooms were spacious, especially when compared to often-cramped London accommodations. The decor was traditional, a mix of tartan and classic country. Facilities were en suite and in good working order, including a hot shower. Perhaps what I recall most fondly was the bed. The combination of a comfortable mattress and my exhaustion caused me to oversleep. Fortunately, the other chaperones told me it was fine to skip breakfast, something I wouldn't allow the students to do.
Meals (dinner and breakfast) were included as part of our tour, but choices weren't as limited as in other locations. It was not only plentiful and served with a smile, but allowed students to try a bit of authentic food.
