Newtonmore is small, but in a beautiful part of Scotland. If you are looking for amazing scenery, nice walks and relaxation, this is a great place to stay. The hostel was very nice, and the owners lovely. I hadn't made reservations before hand, but there were some vacancies and they were very accommodating. The hostel is simple, but cozy and... More

Lovely part of Scotland. Very friendly staff and very obliging. A perfect place to stop off after touring and better value than nearby Aviemore. Would go again and stay with this company. Will be back. Took dinner here too - recommend bar menu - very quick service, nice staff and dining room

Excellent hostel. We 3 friends on a walking holiday shared a great room complete with fridge, kettle and basin, and the hostel also has a well equipped kitchen for shared use. Ideal for a walking holiday, very friendly and helpful, comfortable, well-located. Highly recommend, would definitely go back.

Fantastic hostel, stayed with friends while climbing in the cairngorms. The hostel is small and cosy with excellent facilities. The hosts were warm and friendly and very welcoming. I would recommend this hostel to anyone. Newtonmore is quiet and has limited facilities which suited us just fine.

I stayed with my son and daughter (12 and 14) during a 4 day cycle trip from Ayrshire to Nethy Bridge. This was the most enjoyable night of our trip, we had great company, the hostel is cycle friendly with its facilities and history and very comfortable. Future trips will involve more hostels and fewer guest houses and a return... More

My second visit to this great hostel. First was when doing the East Highland Way last year - the welcome & facilities outstanding - great showers & drying room - & you don't have to share room with strangers either - fantastic! Sue & Neil helpful with advice & whole experience positive. I'll be going back again...

5 of us visited for 3 days and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Neil was a very welcoming host and pointed us in the direction of the local Wildcat Trail. The showers at the end of the walk were very welcoming and just lounging in front of the log fire was bliss. The facilities are more than the 3 stars awarded and... More

For my stag do a group of 10 of us cycled from Edinburgh to Inverness and one of our stop offs was at the Newtonmore Hostel. It was absolutely perfect for our needs. Neil, the host, was great, very welcoming and gave us a place to store our bikes safely over night. The accommodation itself was perfect. The bunk bed... More

Great comfy hostel: I phoned looking for a place I could stay with my dog. They were great and I got a 4/5 bunk room all to myself and my collie, for £18 (no extra cost for the whole room or the dog). The showers / toilets were all clean and fully functioning and the drying room, which I put... More

From the moment i arrived i was treated like a member of the family. Sue showed me to my room and couldn't of made me feel more welcome. After a week wild camping and hiking it truly did feel like i was at home in the common room. Neil and Sue pretty much left me to my own devices, but... More
