Just returned. Highly recommend staying here. Rooms are clean and bright, ours overlooked the river (see photo (room 8)). Staff are more than happy to help. The food is magnificent!! Some fine local ales on draught too. A beautiful part of our country, I'd highly recommend the kayaking trip as a great leisurely way to experience the area. Can't wait... More

Having walked the dog it was really relaxing to grab a real ale and hot baguette. Great environment and good food. Lunch from 12-2:30 and dinner from 6:30 till late. We missed lunch but the baguettes are still a filling, tasty meal.

We arrived at the Saracen's Head at 8.30pm and luckily there was a room for us. We were welcomed with open arms, and a table for dinner was provided after a very short wait. The food was superb, both for dinner and breakfast. The portion sizes were not compromised by the beautiful presentation, and our compliments go to the chef.... More

We stopped for lunch at this wonderful inn and basked in the spring sun while taking in the lovely views. The food was absolutely lovely but the best bit by far was that the owner offerred to drive the pregnant ladies back up the hill to our cabin as we couldn't get a taxi for love nor money! Now THAT... Thank you once again Saracens Head Inn, for another wonderful stay. Food, drink, rooms, all fantastic. Staff, and owners couldnt do more for us. On arrival greeted like old friends, and made to feel very at home. Arrived around 1.30pm, it was very busy, but we were still served quickly by the super efficient staff, and ordered a lovely lunch,... More

I think we have now been visiting the Saracens for the best part of 20 years, and it still remains one of our favourite places to return to. The accomadation is excellent, with wonderful bathrooms and comfy beds. The staff are always polite, even at times in the summer when it can become very busy. Food was also fantastic. I... More

Another visit to our favourite venue found the place recovering well from high river levels. This time we took our two grandchildren and we were once more very warmly received by Pete, Chris and Greg. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at Saracens Head, they have a great team and it makes for a really enjoyable stay. Great... More

Just spent a brilliant weekend at the Saracens Head. River was high but not at all a problem. First prize regarding this place does not go to the absolutely fantastic location or the great food it goes to the staff. We have stayed in hotels all over the world and can say without doubt that the staff are up there... More
