We had a lovely time here the other weekend. Despite booking in advance, we weren't able to get a riverside room, but this is of course the school holidays and in fact our room was still brilliant. It was luxurious and well stocked, with Sky on the television (which came in very useful on the rainy Friday night!) and a... More

Always a pleasure! Beautiful location, decent food, decent drink! Whether your there for a walk and refreshment or a meal. Gets very busy during the summer but if it's dry and can get a table outside, sit down relax and take it all in. Incredable part of the Forest of Dean!

Amazing location. Stunning views from our bedroom window. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Slight problem with parking but managed to squeeze in , this might be a bigger problem in the school holidays . Took a boat trip from right outside and would have done some walking with more time.Only disappointment we couldn't stay longer.! Will definitely be staying here... More

We found this pub last year on our visit to the area so decided to go again on this visit. The food was fantastic, very well presented and cooked. Menu had some lovely choices Staff friendly and setting was perfect. Lovely place to spend an evening.

A very nice Sunday dinner. Beautiful roast beef and lots of very tasty vegetables. It was very busy and service was a little slow, but we were there at a peek time on a very warm Sunday afternoon. There was a good selection of desserts, but would have preferred a larger selection of starters. Would visit again as a beautiful... More

Stopped here after having a wander for a pint & some food. Absolutely delicious, was a bit worried it would end up being just expensive & not very good but far exceeded our expectations & the food reflects the price. Would definitely recommend. :)

Stayed for three nights in June 2015 a place we've been going to for twenty years. Our room was lovely and clean and a nice size (boat house rooms), the breakfast is very good with a nice selection. Ate here every night just because it was good with a nice specials selection and good wine choice. Canoed, walked and cycled... More

Visited with my partner who had last visited 40 years ago. Unlike sometimes the return experience did not disappoint in the slightest! Symonds Yat still glorious and The Saracens Head was wonderful in every way. The view from our bedroom window was beyond beautiful and everything about hotel including our room, the food and the lovely staff were amongst the... More

Stayed here one night for a nearby business meeting. Idyllic and peaceful location and a great night's sleep in simple, but perfectly adequate room, with very comfy bed. Wonderful to have no traffic noise - only birdsong in the morning. Would have appreciated more effective black out curtains rather than a basic venetian blind, however. Food is good, but breakfast... Stopped here for sunday lunch and the location i.e. on the banks of the river Wye, just couldn't be bettered. Food was excellent, including some wonderful starter meat and seafood platter sharing dishes. Sunday roasts were excellent and plentiful, with a greta selection of wines and beers too. Service was very friendly and effecient also. However, what did take the... More

We are pleased that this reviewer found the food 'excellent' on their visit. Parking is actually £ 2.00 for 4 hours, and £ 4.00 for all day - which we think is a fair price for such a venue, and is the cheapest parking in Symonds Yat East. The car park next to us is not just for pub customers,... More
