Stopped here after having a wander for a pint & some food. Absolutely delicious, was a bit worried it would end up being just expensive & not very good but far exceeded our expectations & the food reflects the price. Would definitely recommend. :)

Stayed for three nights in June 2015 a place we've been going to for twenty years. Our room was lovely and clean and a nice size (boat house rooms), the breakfast is very good with a nice selection. Ate here every night just because it was good with a nice specials selection and good wine choice. Canoed, walked and cycled... More

Visited with my partner who had last visited 40 years ago. Unlike sometimes the return experience did not disappoint in the slightest! Symonds Yat still glorious and The Saracens Head was wonderful in every way. The view from our bedroom window was beyond beautiful and everything about hotel including our room, the food and the lovely staff were amongst the... More

Stayed here one night for a nearby business meeting. Idyllic and peaceful location and a great night's sleep in simple, but perfectly adequate room, with very comfy bed. Wonderful to have no traffic noise - only birdsong in the morning. Would have appreciated more effective black out curtains rather than a basic venetian blind, however. Food is good, but breakfast... Stopped here for sunday lunch and the location i.e. on the banks of the river Wye, just couldn't be bettered. Food was excellent, including some wonderful starter meat and seafood platter sharing dishes. Sunday roasts were excellent and plentiful, with a greta selection of wines and beers too. Service was very friendly and effecient also. However, what did take the... More

We are pleased that this reviewer found the food 'excellent' on their visit. Parking is actually £ 2.00 for 4 hours, and £ 4.00 for all day - which we think is a fair price for such a venue, and is the cheapest parking in Symonds Yat East. The car park next to us is not just for pub customers,... More

We came to Symonds Yat East for the pub and its location. Having never been before we had no idea how beautiful it was and ended up making a spontaneous decision to stay. The price was very reasonable. The rooms were very cosy and the little bits and bobs vast. The only thing I would say is the tacky little... More

We spent a long weekend here and apart from the beautiful scenery the hotel was for us outstanding. The staff were friendly and cheerful in their work, our room was very clean and smart. The food served up was really good and tasty and well above average. .

Fantastic choice of local food available. The highlight of our meal was the sausage and mash. Although the fruit de mere was a close contender with a lovely selection of shellfish and the mackerel pate was delish. 10 out of 10. Will be back soon.

Found this Inn by chance whilst searching for a stop over point on our way to Cardiff. The location is even more beautiful in reality. A fantastic place to relax and unwind . Food was great and we found staff to be friendly and helpful. Our room (10) had lovely views overlooking the river and was very comfortable. Lovely to... More
