Absolutely love this place - great in winter as not so busy but get there early if you can. Lovely staff, great food ranging from sandwiches to wholesome varied meals. HAd food envy today as chose bacon brie cranberry toastie with chips (which was fab) but watched someone devouring mussel soup served in a bread bowl. It smelt and looked... More

Had not been down for over a year and as usual we have come away feeling money well spent. Great selection of ales (can recommend the HPA Wye Valley). Great food and wine menu. I opted for the lamb special which was fantastic, followed by an excellent bread & butter pudding. Stayed in room 7 which has recently had a... More

Popped in here for lunch to meet with friends before heading to the forest holidays log cabin site. Fire was roaring when we walked in which was beauty although got a little too warm after a while ( the wine may have helped that) the food is lush. All fresh locally sourced ingredients. It was raining when we went but... More

We stayed for one night in room 2. Right from when we arrived to when we left, the sevice was really friendly and inviting. The room was warm, cosy, clean and had everything you need for a nights stay, with the bonus of a beautiful river view. It's a very popular pub and they have an extensive range of real... More

We went to the Saracens for dinner as a group of friends on a Saturday night whilst saying at forest holiday cabins. It's a cosy old pub with a menu of good variety. We all had 3 course all of which were superb. The service was great and the staff were all very friendly. For 3 courses with a decent... More

We did well getting in here on a Saturday night. The majority of the food was very well cooked (friends thought the pork chop was dry and tough) and I certainly enjoyed the imagination put into the veggie dish. The sous chef in charge on our visit excelled in the desserts and the chocolate trio is divine. Good ales on... More

Had lunch here and it really was lovely. Great staff, so friendly and great choice for food/drink. We took the dog as well and the bar area is lovely to take the dog into. Would recommend for food either in the restaurant or in the dog bar- fab venue and beautiful scenery.

We had lunch at The Saracens Head last Sunday whilst out for a walk with a group of friends. We had reserved in advance so had a good table inside. The service was excellent and the food even better (the fish platter and burger in particular) and made the second half of the walk (all uphill!) much more bearable. Would... More

We have visited 4 times over the past 6 months for Sunday Lunch. The food and service has been consistently kept at a high standard on each occasion. My companions and I have tried various courses on the menus during this time and all the meals were prepared and presented in a professional manner. Good home cooked fresh dishes. Keep... More
