We had an overnight stay which was great, from the moment we arrived the owners, Anne and Dave couldn't have been any more welcoming to us and our two dogs. The room was excellent, warm comfortable and clean, the breakfast was cooked to perfection. Very dog friendly, what Lab doesn't like being given a sausage for breakfast? We returned for... More

13 ladies dined here at lunchtime today and words almost (!) fail me. Badly cooked cheap food served on cold plates and although we pre-ordered we waited a very long time between courses and were served by scowling staff who quite honestly could close a pub down. The food is expensive for what it is and I'm sorry to say... More

The 14 over 60 ladies booked a bar lunch on a weekday , and as we do not open at lunch, we got staff in and allowed them to have the pub to themselves, with all staff focusing on them. There was no mention of time being an issue, so as normal we made sure they had drinks and chats... More

A group of 14 booked lunch and chose from menu days in advance. Arrived on the day, 40 minute wait for starters, long waits between courses, cooked hot mains served on cold plates hence congealed gravy, desserts seem to be microwaved and not very appetising to look at. Landlord rude and uncaring and his sole objective to make sure that... More

Was enjoying a lovely meal, served by very attentive waitress and friendly bar man. Lots of older ladies came in and were greeted and looked after immediately. They didn't shut up moaning!! We felt so sorry for the staff, who couldn't have been more polite. In the end, the landlord asked them to leave as they started telling others not... More

I am giving a very good rating To the gentleman who was very friendly and draw us a map with direction how to reach King Arthur's cave. But unfortunately we were not happy with the Cappuccino and the apple pie. The Apple pie was like it has come out of microwave and the custard cream was reheated.

Accommodated at late notice, and made very welcome. Comfortable plush looking room, plenty of extras, a really good home cooked breakfast. Enjoyed a fabulous steak in the bar restaurant the night before. Very good value set in a prime tourist location.

We used to love coming here and decided to visit for old time sake. The staff were welcoming and friendly, but the food was not very good and over priced. The steak and ale pie I had was terrible - it was a small slice with thick pastry and no filling, also it had been microwaved. Obviously bought in which... More

We stayed here for one night while visiting family in the area. It is the most friendliest place we have ever stayed, the dog was also given breakfast and biscuits in the room!! Everything was great, food, price and the people. I would highly recommend as it is a perfect place to stay while making the most of the surrounding... More
