As others have mentioned the price. It's outrageously expensive considering it really is barely a small field by the river. Toilets are mediocre at best and the same of the showers too. No facilities except to canoe or the pub the Scaracens Head (which is excellent by the way). In the end it's location location location. Really handy to paddle... More

Just returned from three nights at this campsite. The location is fabulous with beautiful scenery and views. The campsite itself is fine with facilities as described by other reviewers. We were here to go canoeing, rock climbing and abseiling and it was the convenience of being able to camp and not have to drive that attracted us. The activity staff... More

This campsite is well situated on the bank of the wye within walking distance of the hotels and pub. It has good access to the river with launch bays for those with canoes. The field is slopped but not enough to cause issues and there is washing facilities in the form of a container that's been turned into showers. The... More

Lets start with the price. Four old friends in their 60s canoeing down the river would like to stop in Symonds Yat for the night. That will be £54, £14 pounds per head plus a £10 noise bond. The site itself. No bins in the camping area, poor toilet facilities and showers. No organisation of plots. No picnic tables. In... More

Arrived on a hot and busy Sunday, the camping field had been turned into an overflow car park so we abandoned the motorhomes where we could and had a cup of tea before taking the dog for a walk and then a beer. When we returned the site was emptying out so we picked the flattest spots and set up.... More

We have been coming to this campsite for 14 years and as well-travelled campers, i still believe this to be my favourite campsite. It is a very special place to unwind and enjoy one of the most beautiful, scenic and yet undamaged places in England. The campsite is a what a campsite should be, with enough amenities aimed at providing... More

This is a lovely quiet little campsite, situated right on the bank of the river Wye. The surrounding countryside is spectacular with some great roads for motorcycling. The staff were friendly and helpful and there were plenty of concrete blocks around to put under side stands. The facilities were very basic but adequate for our needs and the on site... More

This place is a canoe/kayak rental/shop 1st, car park 2nd and campsite 3rd. On entry to the car park, there are no signs for guidance on what to do other than 'park-up', numerous visits to the 'reception' area-come-car park-hut-come-ticket-place-come-canoe-sales-place had to be made, as parking-up for pitching looked like it wasn't quite the best option. Despite that, this is what... More

This is a simply stunning camp site with an amazing location right next to the river between the two hand ferries and pubs. It's just such a shame that facilities let it down. We found the toilets & showers to be a little grubby and not looked after at all well. The area is beautiful though and the sites location... More
