Relaxation... noun - a way to rest and enjoy yourself. This hotel offers the best environment for relaxation. The views from the hotel room were outstanding. Hotel Parador provides a super breakfast and the place is immaculately clean.

Perched on a hill top this is an impressive looking Parador. There were 2 weddings in the adjacent church so obviously popular locally. Parador reception staff were very friendly and helpful recommending and booking a boat trip on embalse - River Sil. Good rooms. Small pool which we didn't use. Restaurant meal was very good with excellent local wine. There... More

Another great historical Parador in Northern Spain. At the top of a hill with staggering 360degree views. A camera doesn't do them justice. This is an old monastery well converted into a modern hotel. It retains old features with modern comfort. Small pool and jacuzzi area too. Dinner choice limited but there is an affiliated restaurant 5-10mins walk down hill... More

This hotel is quite impressive from the outside and the inside is stunning too. There is a car park, which costs 6€ but we chose to park outside, just next to the hotel, which seemed very safe. The reception staff were friendly and recommended somewhere to eat in the town, although the menu here also looked good and very reasonably... More

A nice enough Parador with good sized rooms. We ate in the restaurant and it was one of the better Parador meals AND it was hot and served on hot plates - not a common occurrence! Parking was in the open and as it was a long way from the town we didn't use the garage facilities. However, in the... More

We stayed here two nights in a superior room. The room and bathroom were both a nice size, and the bed was comfortable. The only real issue we had was that the A/C was only turned on a few hours during the day, forcing us to open the window at night for cool air. The window looked like it was... More

The hotel is situated between an old church and a fortified tower. It claims to be a 17th century monastry but this must have been heavily restored as, apart from the layout of the clositers around the central atrium, it didn't show much signs of age. Don't expect worn flagstones and stone window seats here. That said, its a nicely... More

The Parador de Monforte de Lemos is truly a destination in and of itself! Just loved this luxury hotel in a 9th century monastery!! It has a gorgeous cloister and sitting there having our free wine (something you get at each parador if you become an amigos de paradores which is a free membership) felt just decadent!! Our room was... More

We stayed at several Paradors along the Camino de Santiago. This, like the others, had stunning public areas, and somewhat monastic private bedrooms. Some of the rooms are named for the former abbots. Our room looked out over the town, and the castle tower, and the forecourt of the parador. It was a great view. The rooms surrounded the old... Miles from anywhere (we drove 400kms from Oviedo) this landmark hotel was superb in every way - with the exception, perhaps, of finding it first time! No doubt lots has been written about the Parado organization and we chose Monforte based on Trip Advisor reports. This beautifully converted monastery sits on top of the only hill for miles. Arrival late... More
