We stayed only one night at this hostal, but I can tell you that this is a very good value in Menorca. Even in high season middle of July, in the centre of Mahon, we payed only euro for a double including breakfast, which is unbeatable in this season on the island... The rooms were basic, but very clean, fresh,... More

Difficult to understand how this is a one star hostal. Far closer to a 3 and far better than a lot of hotels I've stayed in. Clean, comfortable en-suite rooms. Very helpful and friendly staff. Few minutes walk from the centre of Mahon. Ideal, and at about 22 euros per night far far too cheap for what you get :-)

Very clean, very well looked after and comfortable rooms and communal areas. Independent hotel owned by 3rd generation son of a son of a son! Don't be misled by the fact it's a 2 star 'hostal'. If you're travelling as a single or a couple this place is perfect. 3 mins walk from the town centre, owner and staff always... More

This place is not 4-star, but it is centrally-located, clean and adequate. Maybe a bit noisy from time to time - they need to fix the bedheads to the wall so that they do not bang against it every time you move in the bed, etc. It is not expensive - EUR27 per night - and that includes a passable... I found La Isla Hostal to be a very friendly place run by a lovely family. It's in a convenient spot for shopping etc. Can walk to most places, but is very close to buses as well. The rooms are above a cafe/bar that's very welcoming to travelers. The owner is a sweetheart and will do anything to make your... More

Nice atmosphere of family run hotel; perfect location for exploring the city and surroundings. Very friendly staff give you value tips, how to explore the capital. You can start day there with typical Spanish breakfast: tasty coffee and famous ensaimada and also taste daily 3-courses menu for reasonable price. We really enjoyed our stay there.

We spent 3 nights at la isla and used it as a base to explore Mahon and surrounding beaches. The rooms were air-conditioned and clean. The breakfast was adequate and the coffee was good. For 60 euros a night inkling breakfast you could not ask for more in peak season. Lunch and dinner were available at a cost of 10... More

If you want to find a base while in Maon, that is good value, clean and with friendly service, this is a good place to go. The accommodation is basic, but the rooms are clean, they come with air conditioning, although the batteries in our remote had stopped working. It's not picturesque, however the white washed walls and well kept... More
