A beautifully decorated and restored old building. Used to be a winery. The view of the countryside from the room and restaurant is spectacular. The breakfast was excellent and all the staff were warm and helpful. I would recommend La Fructuosa to anyone and hope to return soon!

From the moment you step inside you can tell the amount of time, love and hard work that has gone into restoring this beautiful place. According to it's history it was a much loved guest house going back 150 years that had fallen into disrepair by the 1970's. The current owners took over this labour of love in 1997 and... More

This was our first time in Gaucin so we booked online and relied on the hotel website for information. we were not disappointed.La Fructuosa is a delightful hotel with traditional Spanish furnishing and decor. Well equipped room with free wifi. Unfortunately for us the restaurant is only open at weekends in May so we so we missed out on sampling... More

Jesus and Luis have done an amazing job renovating an old inn that was in bad repair and turning it into a beautiful hotel. Our room was perfectly finished and Jesus left flowers, cava, and chocolates for my wife's birthday when we arrived. All the rooms have a view of the incredible Genal valley with Gibraltar, the Mediterranean and Africa... More

Beautiful renovated building. Really lovely room with a fantastic view. You will go wow. Very charismatic host and great service from Pilar. When we arrived and the village was in cloud we thought where on earth have we arrived as village seemed very remote but the rest of the days were sunny and the village is so pretty. Loads of... Had the pleasure of stopping in La Fructuosa for just one night. It is a beautiful hotel in the middle of the fantastic village of Gaucin with the most amazing views across the mountains, down to the coast with Gibraltar in the distance and on a clear day the mountains of Morocco. We stopped in the Pension room as there... More

According to Conde Nast, and I completely agree. This hotel is superior in all respects and at a good price considering the outstanding quality of accomodations and professional service. The food is world class as well. Costa del Sol is a bit misleading. The hotel is inland, across the Sierras from the coast, between Sevilla and Granada. If visiting the... More

We went to Gaucin to have a peaceful holy week. The hotel is impressive, with beautiful views and rooms. We had dinner in the restaurant, which is located in what used to be a winery. The food was great and very beautifully presented. However, what really made us love the restaurant was the staff. Jesús and Luis, the owners, were... More

We stayed here for one night and enjoyed the hotel. It took awhile to check in as there is no manned reception desk. The room was nicely decorated but the chairs were very uncomfortable. We know it is rare to find a room with seating so this was both enticing and disappointing! There is no aircon and during our stay... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. Upon arrival, the beds in our room were bathed in afternoon sunlight, this made for an enjoyable siesta! The view from our room was incredible, Gibralter, Morocco and the ocean all visible from our balcony. The hotel has an interesting history which is reflected in the decor. The breakfast was delicious, quince jam, jamon,... More
