Reviews here and elsewhere had our hopes up high. We could have forgiven the fact that there were few directions and NO parking. Once we got to the upper balcony and the breathtaking view, we remembered the joyful anticipation we felt when we visited their web site. End of fantasy. Supper was our least memorable table d'hôte in Spain, right... more

We got this place from what is fast becoming the first port of call as a hotel reference site, TripAdvisor! When we arrived on a dull, misty afternoon, untypical for Spain, we joined a tiny knot of folk waiting outside in the street for the owner to show up. He takes his afternoon siesta elsewhere you see! But once inside... more

Fructuosa is the most amazing hotel in Andalucia! It's beautiful, convenient, calm, friendly, good restaurant, helpful and warm owner, has a very beautiful view on Gibraltar, good price, all the pictures at the site are true. It's a place to come back and stay at least a week! And it's from someone who usally doesn't get excited form hotels :) more

Ah ... lovely La Fructuosa. I think this was our 4th time to stay there. La Fructuosa is owned by Jesus and Luis - lovely lovely guys. The bought the old house in a dilapidated state and have lovingly restored it keeping many of the original features - and adding some more to enhance the overall pleasure and ambiance of... more

After visiting La Fructuosa's very concise and complete website, I decided to book a small getaway with my husband in order to relax and unwind. La Fructuosa is just like visiting your long lost relatives in Spain - when you arrive you are greeted by either Jesus or Luis (the Hotel's proprietors) who make you feel like one of the... more

After a couple of days in Marbella, we wandered into the countryside to find Gaucin, recommended by a restaurant owner in Casco Antiguo in Marbella. As we searched for a restaurant open on Sunday, we happened upon La Fructuosa which was having its first Sunday brunch offerring. The food was simple, with subtle but incredible flavors. We traveled throughout Andalucia... more

We stayed at La Fructuosa for 4 nights in April and we loved it from the moment Jesus opened the front door and welcomed us. The hotel was just what we were hoping for on this long (6 1/2 weeks) trip through Spain. (We booked this hotel and everything else in Spain and Portugal through anamazinghotel.com; it is a great... more

'A real gem' is an over-worked expression, but how else do you describe such a lovely place as La Fructuosa? Luis and Jesus have created a beautifully-designed, art-house of a place, with scrumptious but simple rooms, a view to kill-for and a compendium of arts and crafts derived from a number of years of permitting artists to exhibit their works... more

This tiny rustic hotel is in the heart of Gaucin, the pueblo blanco that hugs the mountains north of the western Costa del Sol. There is no hotel parking, so I found a space a few hundred metres past the property, and walked back up to the hotel. I rang the bell of the main door that opens directly onto... more

This is an abolutely lovely small hotel. It has stunning views to Gibraltar and North Africa and the rooms are beautiful, but we will also remember the amazing hospitality from Jesus and Luis, the owners. They are really charming and friendly, but not in a remotely intrusive way. They will give you any advice you need, for example about local... more
