If you are wanting to visit the Algarve and miss out on the crowds then visit Rio Arade. It is a restored manor house and the owner John has turned this into an excellent B&B. Accommodation is spacious and very clean and has a lovely pool for private use. We could find no fault with this B&B at all. The... more

We stayed in Rio Arade Manor house two weeks, and it was better than at home :) Beautiful accommodation, swimming pool, helpful and very friendly John, Carlos and Svetlana. It was excellent location to explore Algarve, so if you have a car, you can visit every day some other town and other beach, what we did. Would recommend this place... more

I read the reviews as I always do and thought this is the place for us...................and it was! I totally agree with everything that has been written before regarding the staff......................a... more

Last minute break. A little of the beaten track and would hire a car next time. However with the assistance of both John and Carlos was able to get around and fit a lot in. Sampled some fabulous local food which was fantastic. The weather remained sunny throughout. A tranquil setting and one I would recommend to my friends and... more

This was the forth year that we have stayed at Rio Arade and again it was perfect. As a base Rio Arade everything we needed. Top quality private rooms, great breakfasts, excellent pool and surrounding area for R&R, a comfortable lounge and of course John the perfect host. We will be booking for next year very soon. more

After reading many recommendations in the travel supplements of various newspapers over the years we finally made it to Rio Arade Manor House for a week long stay on 3rd Feb. We were not disappointed - apart from the inclement weather which neither John or Carlos had any control over - we were warmly welcomed by John on arrival by... more

Barry & Judy, Malaga, 29 Jan -3 Feb 2009 A gem of a place. Very relaxed, John is a good host. Breakfasts were first class as was the standard of the room. Shame there was no control over the weather, but a good base for exploring the region. more

Myself, my wife and eight-year old son recently went looking for a good-value quality destination for a post-christmas break and were lucky enough to come across the Rio Arade guesthouse. Being January, the night of our arrival was quite chilly, but the cold was dispelled immediately upon stepping trough the doors to be greed by host John and a blazing... more
