Just back from a weeks holiday with my mum at the Alvormar Apartments. These apartments are very clean, safe and efficiently run. Location wise, literally a stones throw from everything without being noisy. We only heard the birds roosting in the evenings but they were not loud enough to cause us any disturbance. I thought they were actually quite plesant.... more

This is a jewel in alvor.The location is superb,the staff exceptional and the standard of cleanliness above average.Just a 10 minute stroll from the fantastic beeach and the harbour and in the very center of the village.The mini market is 50 yards and the taxi and bus stop just a 100 yards. The Alvormar is situated just far enough from the bars and restaurants (a five minute stroll-semi pedestianised) so that when you come back to your room there's none of that disco music blaring til the early hours. A great set of apartments for our needs. Each apt was clean with bedroom, bathroom (bath and shower), kitchen area, dining area, settee and satellite television. The downstairs rooms had a patio leading out to the garden while upstairs rooms have balconies, some overlooking the small but adequate pool area. My husband and I stayed at the Alvor Mar appartments for 4 nights last week. We stumbled across it by chance and it suited our needs perfectly. Not too expensive but clean and very well situated. The Alvomar Apartments are situated on a slight hill in the town centre. You do hear some noise but no enough to really disturb you. The Apartments themselves are a good size but other facilities very limited. Only a small pool and surrounding area. It is much more personal than some of the large hotels on the outskirts of Alvor.... more
