We (family of five adults) just returned from spending two weeks at beautiful Villa il Poggio. As we drove in the gates and down the driveway, we knew we had made a great choice. We were greeted by lovely gardens, manicured lawns, grand Cyprus trees, sparkling swimming pool and magnificent views. Elisabetta Perez, owner of the villa, is a warm... More

My husband and me spent a week at Villa il Poggio for the third time now and again we had wonderful days. The villa, the pool, the garden - everything was nice (Elisabetta is always working on it). This time we had one of the appartments and enjoyed sitting outside in the sun, having wine, reading a book. It is... More

We (two couples) enjoyed our stay. We found the geranium apartment to be clean and comfortable. During our stay, unfortunately, the weather was not good, so we were unable to enjoy the beautiful grounds. A car is necessary, and this location is good for driving to many beautiful places. Be sure to get exact directions as, even though we were... More

Stayed here for 4 nights and the house is lovely with old family airlooms, beautiful furniture and quite spacious. From the top floor there is a lovely view of Amorosa and Montepulciano, great for sleeping. Our host was very kind and gave us some great guidance on where to go and a special thanks to Elizabetta for organizing a vineyard... More

For 6 wonderful nights 3 couples stayed here in September 2013 and enjoyed the Tuscan experience. The location and the rustic charm made our stay there very enjoyable. Elisabetta was very helpful and was there to advise us on restaurants and towns to visit. We were kept company by her dogs Chloe (and her puppies) and Zoey the one year... More

Villa il Poggio is at walking distance of the town. It is the most beatiful mansion i've ever been in. The decoration is like you are back in the 15th century, the best atmosphere, original painted ceilings, furnature even books. The rooms (we've been staying in a room in the house and in one of the appartments) are perfectly styled... More

We enjoyed our stay at Villa il Poggio, it's has an authentic feel about it. The host Elisabetta is warm, friendly and very helpful, and made us very welcome. The apartment was well equipped, clean and comfortable. The pool area is lovely with wonderful views. Plenty space and lots of sun beds. We would go back again.

We spent five wonderful days in Villa il Poggio and loved every minute! Elisabetta was really helpful with advising us about where to go during the day and offered great local restaurant suggestions. The villa is full of Tuscan charm and was so much nicer than staying in a hotel! We had the pool to ourselves for most of our... More

We travelled to Tuscany by train and stayed for four nights at Villa Poggio. Elisabetta made us feel very much at home and picked us up on more than one occasion from the railway station at Sinalunga just over 1km away. She also kindly drove us to Montepulciano which was beckoning us in the distance as we looked out of... More

We stayed for six nights at this beautiful peaceful villa. The villa was clean and furnished with antiques, it smelled of polish and was obviously well looked after and loved. As previously stated Elisabetta was a warm host and helped us plan our days and evenings. I would recommend going to Pienza and Montepulciano as they are authentic beautiful towns... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
To spend time at Villa Il Poggio, in the heart of Tuscany, is to discover one's very roots. The ties with the past have never been cut. It can be felt in every wall of the villa, which, from its hilltop position, has dominated the surrounding countryside since the thirteenth century. Villa Il Poggio is proud and centuries old like the cypress trees that surround it. You arrive as a guest and leave as a friend, with a strong desire to return. ... more   less
