I stayed at this Locanda previously as part of a bike tour, and was looking forward to visiting on my own. Its been 11 years since I was here, but fortunately things were either the same or better. A very charming spot, just a beautiful spot in the Tuscan countryside. Our visit to some of the better known hill towns... More

If you chose to travel through Tuscany and do it by car. It's always a challenge to figure out where to stay/locate to do all of the hill villages (we did 21 from this particular region/hotel site in a week.....our itinerary was not for the faint of heart. But this hotel was amazing. Dating back to 1350 it was originally... More

We enjoyed the beauty of this charming hotel and walking through the vineyard surrounding it. Our favorite part of the hotel was the Osteria. The food was freshly prepared and amazing. We enjoyed lunch and two dinners there. The friendly staff welcomed us with a warm appetizer along with bread and olive oil. (It was olive harvest season and the... More

Nice hotel, conveniently located to explore the area. Very dark room with indistinct furniture. The TV is from the 1990s, with very few channels to watch. They tried to charge me more than $40 US Dollars for mailing me with regular post, in an envelope, a small cable that I left behind. Breakfast selection was very limited in a dark... More

This old farm, from '300, was been restored and.. by now is simply stunning. Everything is in the right place, starting by the preservation of the buildings, gardens, pool, and.. a very tasty wine bar/osteria. There is also a fantastic restaurant where to eat. Rooms are well preserved, with relaxing views. Service is a blast. Really close to Valdorcia e... More

As a fellow guest said, this place is randomly spectacular, meaning that a walk around any given corner of the grounds provides you with breathtaking views and intimate outdoor rooms and nooks that are worthy of photographic masterpieces for you to hang in your dining room at home. Stunning. We were there in late September, but lounging around the outdoor... More

This is a 14th century farm reworked into a top-notch resort/hotel. The character of the place is stunning. So much old brick and stone and roof tile and arches. Then around the corner is an infinity pool and a wine bar. Each room drips with charm. And one uber-comfortable bed. The place and the staff are especially welcoming and, just... More

This hotel was completely hit and miss. The hit was the location and everything else was a miss. They did not put the extra bed into the room as confirmed by email. The safe was jammed closed with our passports and money by the receptionist. The heating did not work. The maitre in the their restaurant could not understand why... More

If you look at the photos, you'll see an enchanting hamlet, but you'll get so much more when you're walking the trails in person. You'll find a haven where you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool or room that overlooks vineyards. My husband and I stayed for 5 nights of our honeymoon and were incredibly pleased. We loved... I spent my honeymoon in this enchanted venue. Close to Sienna and Cortona (Under the Tuscan Sun movie) and close to all of wine country. After weeks in Rome, Capri and Florence...this venue was the perfect respite from a busy Italian journey. My goal is to be back...soon! Stunning staff that stamped and mailed our 100 postcards that were our... More
