We spent an evening here last week and it was memorable. We were given a tour of the property learning something of it's fascinating history after which we were treated to the most delicious meal. Each course was introduced by the delightful owner and was accompanied by some extraordinary wine. After dinner they screened silent films in the olive grove... More

Il Frantoio is run by the family that lives there and their care and attention shines through in everything: from the accommodation, to the service and to the excellent food. Most of the food is grown on the farm and you will be served food from Puglia that you won't find elsewhere. On the first night you will be tempted... More

Our family of three had a wonderful three-night stay at Masseria Il Frantoio. We loved the historic charm of the main building, and the grounds were beautiful with thousands of old olive trees, beautiful gardens and a fabulous patio. We were part of a larger party of several families traveling together and felt that Masseria had something for everyone. The... More

Took some time, 5 weeks, to think about this review. This Masseria was 1 of 4 accomodations in a 2 week trip, the 2nd most expensive of the 4. I had the highest expectation, based on previous reviews, so take this into consideration when you read this. The positive - nice staff, excellent location for touring area by car. Nice... More

Dear …. Thank you so much for the kind words you had about our staff, the wonderful location, the relaxing patio, the welcome drinks and the friendly check-in. Having chosen a ‘Classic’ room you were given what is effectively one of the noisier rooms being right next to the dining room (but we are talking about an ancient farm house... More

We stayed at the Il Frantoio for two nights at the end of May and were positively surprised. Having read the reviews here at TA, we expected to have a really tiny room but were pleased with our room Oleandro next to the dining room. The room was of adequate size with an adjoining space for suitcases and a spacious... More

My partner and I have stayed at Masseria Il Frantoio a number of times now (also in winter) and we will continue to return whenever in Puglia. The structure is a real country home, each of the rooms are individually furnished with period pieces, the staff are extremely helpful and attentive and the food is simply superb.

We stayed here completely by chance, we were tired and rumpled and arrived late and hungry. One room was available for one night, and we were looked after so wonderfully. A table was set for us, and we were brought salads and meats and cheeses and breads. And wine. Everything was delicious, home made and superlative quality. The liqueur "the... More

We were a group of 6 family members who stayed at La Frantoio for 3 nights in march. It was a wonderful experience. Beautiful working farm with nice ambience, great staff and comfortable rooms. Fantastic meals with fresh vegetables and pasta. They serve 8 or 5 course tasting menus paired with wine and olive oil. You need a hearty appetite... More
