The Hotel Anker positioned right in the centre of Saalfeld opposite the square. This is a very picturesque area with beautiful buildings all around. The Hotel is very decadent, an old building ousing character. The reception is based on the second floor from the Hotel carpark, so an issue for Elderly and impaired persons ( no lift ) the barriered... More

Stayed in this hotel for two nights in April on business. It is fine but unremarkable with some irritating quirks such as shortage of pillows and you have to leave the building to get to the bar. Standard breakfast and I was told they were unable to do toast- oh come on, you can boil an egg but can't toast... More

If you are sick of the standard room design international hotel chains offer enjoy Hotel Anker in Saalfeld. Every room is different nevertheless employing the same functional and accommodating style. The staff is focused on friendly and efficient service. Sure, a fitness facility may be missed, but jogging courses along the Saale river are reachable within few minutes. You may... More

We stayed at this hotel whilst on business with our two families and Hotel Anker was very accommodating. Our rooms were large with the extra bedding required for 5 children. Enough for the kids to have their own space to move around and not get under our feet. We dined in the breakfast room and the buffet was very accommodating... More

Traditional and modern features are skilfully combined at this most agreeable (and surprisingly inexpensive) hotel. It is centrally located on Markt, but as so often in Germany the train and bus stations are a long way from the centre, in this case 15 minutes on foot. I stayed here for five nights on a walking holiday - there is good... More

I was here on business and the hotel was very good basic but clean good breakfast and very helpful staff. The area has a few hotels but this is in the best located and is fine for a short stay !! Then hotel has its own parking at rear. Don't park in square as one guest did and had his... More

Stayed many times at this hotel when on business in Saalfeld. Its cheap.....always clean with good size rooms. The included breakfast is excellent and the staff are helpful and friendly. The hotel is on the main square in Saalfeld.Dont expect the Ritz but it does offer very good value for your Euros hence my 4 star experience
