The Pinger Hotel, Remagen was my base for five nights as part of a Rhineland Escorted Rail holiday with Diamond Rail Holidays whilst other guests were travelling with Treyn (now Rail Discoveries). The hotel is located directly opposite Remagen Railway station. In addition to local passenger services, freight rail services thunder by throughout the night which affected some of our... More

Bedroom: spotless, comfortable bed, adequate space and efficient shower. Food: delicious - cordon bleu it ain't, but great if you like plenty of well cooked, hot and hearty food for hungry people. Breakfast has good variety including English breakfast tea with real milk, and packed lunches are substantial and you choose your own sandwich fillings. Service: superb, with helpful and... More

Stayed here for a week with an organised tour recently. This Hotel is very close to the mainline railway station, and there is quite a lot of train noise if you leave your windows open; but don't let this put you off staying. The station gives you good access to the Rhine Valley towns, and City of Cologne. River cruisers... More

We came here to stay on a Treyn holiday.Like everyone else has said you can hear the trains distinctively so it would be better to ask for a room at the back.Ours was on the front but with us being there for my Birthday we paid extra for a bigger room which really made the stay.(didnt help the noise thoughTalking... This hotel is rated at four stars presumably because it has a swimming pool and a lift (only one of which works). the room we had was absolutely tiny, very hot and noisy as it faced the railway with trains going all night. I don't consider it was good value for money

As mentioned in other reviews this hotel is very very close to the railway station. Goods trains run (at great speed) throughout the night. The week we spent there was very very hot and had to have to windows open. Even with earplugs the noise is still very bad. A number of complaints made to the management re the noise... More

The main drawback of the Hotel Pinger is the railway opposite. With good earplugs you can get used to the noise of the trains but they do go past all night and don't help with sleeping problems! The hotel is pleasant and the food was of a good standard and reasonable variety. It is always easiest in Germany if you... More

This hotel is situated near the rhine and the family who run it are very good, excellent food and great rooms, powerful showers and information on the surrounding area available. Treyn holidays, diamond rail and others use this hotel, and attracts a good group of British, breakfast is delicious

Just returned from a 4 day stay in the hotel Pinger. This holiday we booked through Treyn travel and were not disappointed . This was our first Treyn holiday and it was very well organised by our tour representative Adaleine who also looked after the group and made sure all our needs were satisfied. The hotel itself was exceptionally clean... More
