Traveling with a group of 8, we stayed in the Hans-Sachs-Hof for three nights while visiting Pirmasens. Upon entering the lobby, we were overwhelmed with the smell of cigarette smoke and were somewhat concerned the rooms would likewise smell. They, however, did not. We had a three night stay in this hotel on a visit to Pirmasens. The staff is friendly, helpful and competent. The room we had was clean and spacious. Large hotel which looks like it has not been touched for 40 years. Very dated and dark inside but the rooms are clean and serviceable. Our room did smell of cigarette smoke but was comfortable and bed was clean. The reception staff on arrival was a guy who did not speak a word of English but tried to help us... More

We booked this hotel the night before from an internet travel site because we were trying to save money. It was adorable in a quaint way - clean but definitely not modern. Agree with one of the prior reviews - it's very dark inside and their technology is ancient, but it's a clean room for a great price.

Maybe it's just me, but I found this hotel to be rather charming. It's probably not for everyone, but the place had the look and feel of a hotel from another era - in a good way.
