First let me say that the proprietor is super, super nice, helpful, and friendly. We swapped biers (he gave me a local landbier; I gave him a great keller bier) on our second night there. We were greeted by Nadeem alias 'Jimmy' and made to feel welcome from the start. He was always willing to chat and very helpful throughout our stay with recommendations of where to go and what to do. This is a charming old hotel that has been sympathetically renovated. It is clean throughout and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was superb... More

Hotel was clean, comfortable, breakfast excellent, and staff extremely friendly. Very nice stay. We have been to the Gurg Hotel a few times and we will return to Monschau. Lovely.
