The parador is in the middle of the small village of Arties and built in the rustic style of the area with slate roof tiles and stone walls. It is clearly geared for the winter as the were radiators everywhere. Unfortunately when we went it was a hot day in summer and our room which was immediately under the roof... More

This is a lovely part of the world in which to stay and there are a lot of good things about it, but the first impression was that, while the rooms would be fine for a student hostel, by Parador standards they are pokey. Although a heater goes from floor to low roof, there is no air-conditioning in the rooms... More

Travelling back from Costa blanca we had an overnight stop at this hotel in the Pyrenees. Styled like a ski chalet very spacious but cosy at the same time. The welcome at reception was very friendly. Our room was huge with a stunning outlook of village and mountains. Bathroom was luxurious. Breakfast was very good with varied choice to suit... More

Spanish Paradores are in general a sure bet. This is not an exception. Labelled as Naturia (a countryside hotel surrounded by breathtaking wild nature, pretty logical isn't it?), this is actually a urban-sited place, right in the middle of the small and peaceful village of Arties, not too far from Vielha and its amenities but distant enough to be quiet,... Second stay in this quiet relaxing hotel. Staff very attentive, food and wine especially good. It's possible to arrange taxi visits to local places of interest and the hotel facilities, although limited for youngsters in summer are good. No doubt winter is busier, but I am not interested in skiing, so that's not a time I would visit.

One night stay during the off-season meant we (two) were isolated guests (very few on board). Two of the three floors were secured for the period. All of which meant a quiet evening in pleasant surroundings with NO noise or interruptions. Modern rooms and pleasant though not abundant staff. The adjacent village offers a number of attractive restaurants. See review... More

Stunning drive through the Pyrenees mountains to this delightful Hotel. We wanted to stay in a typical Parador. The Arties was this and more. The village would be picture postcard in winter. We had an interesting walk around the town amongst the houses and hotels which were built in traditional alpine style. Our room over looked the village and surrounding... More

This Parador is obviously at its best during ski season. We visited in September as part of a touring holiday and the hotel was very quiet and dull. The pool was not heated and therefore unusable, and the Brasserie closed in the evening. rooms were comfortable but no air conditioning is a problem. The village and surrounding district is quite...
