We passed by this Gasthaus on our way to Neuschwanstein. After stopping at a nice hotel at the base of Neuschwanstein and pricing a triple room we decided to drive the 5 minutes back to Alpengasthof Geiselstein and were able to get two rooms for half the price (of the expensive hotel)! The rooms were very large and comfortable. Though... More

We found the Gasthaus Geiselstein by accident late one day. Turned out to be very good luck. Lovely room with a comfortable bed and a clean bathroom. Excellent restaurant. One of their specialties is Zander, a Pike-Perch from a local lake, perfectly prepared. Friendy, helpful staff. Resonably priced.

Good breakfast, clean rooms, welcoming personell. Very pleased to stay at this hotel. Just 6 kilometeres from castles, just near to hotel is the elevator station to get up to mountains. Inara and Jevgenijs, Riga, Latvia.

Reading my reviews, people can see that I am a very frequent business traveller, used to stay ant chain/hotels (Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, etc), but if anyone will see this place with eyes used to such a hotel, then will struggle to find the positive. Of course that a new flat TV in a room is plus, but here you dont... More

My wife and I were driving late afternoon looking for a place to stay close to the world famous castles and happened to drive into Alpengasthof Geiselstein where we were met with charm and warmth. We immediately felt at home in this cosy, homely guesthouse and spent 2 nights here. The food in the restaurant was top quality at very... More

We have stayed 2 nights at this BB, in a 3 bed room which was really big, with a nice terrace overlooking the mountains. The rooms could use some refreshment, but we found it perfectly clean. Be aware that it is a rural area, so for example when we were there during spring we could smell the fertilizer almost everywhere.... More
