Great hotel for 3 stars. Staff helpful and friendly, see for yourself. Remember this is not a 5 star hotel. But it is full of character and must be a fantastic place to visit at Xmas/New year. Its dog friendly too.

Occupying a commanding position over the town of Hornberg. Sharing its position with the remains of a Medieval castle although it reality little more than a single tower remains, but the views from the top are breath-taking. The hotel is centrally located in the Black forest. Given it lofty position over the town if you wish to spend an evening... More

The hotel looks better in real life than in the photos & brochures. The rooms were big, immaculate with fantastic views over Hornberg.Parking was free & we all parked within a few feet of the front door. The walk down to the town was very steep so we did not attempt it in the short time we had there. All staff were very friendly... We have booked a package for 2 nights with breakfast and dinner. The hotel was nice, located in a good location. The rooms are big and new renovated. The breakfast had a lot of variety of choices. Drinks price at bar and restaurant is not over charging. But quite disappoint about dinner. First night we had 3 course-dinners which tasted... More

Some vacations are to do things, like Disney. Some are to rest, recharge, and reset. The Schloss Hornberg Hotel was the best rest my wife and I have ever had. The staff, especially the owners, were extremely friendly and helpful. Being native English speakers with poor German skills was no problem for us as many people had great English skills... More

For our first ever White Christmas, the Black Forest was the area recommended by friends. Karsten & Monica own and run Schloss Hornberg, right next to the original castle ruins overlooking Hornberg, which was a short walk down the hill. Karsten & Monica were perfect hosts, rooms were clean and cozy, the best hot showers we have experienced in a... More

We had a very nice stay in the Schlosshotel Hornberg! While this is not a super-stylish de-luxe hotel like one of the big downtown hotel chains, it is a great destination at what I think is a very reasonably price. The stay was made wonderful by the staff, the awesome view over the valley and a wonderful dinner in the... More

If you are looking for a quiet hotel that brings you back to a gentler time, then here it is. The family that runs the hotel is extremely friendly and helpful. The food is good in the restaurant and the views out of the Black Forest are beautiful. Good clean rooms with wifi.

This was the ninth place we stayed out during our month long vacation. First of all, this isn't a castle. There is a castle ruin sitting next to it, but the building itself was a residence and never a castle. The view and location of this hotel is breathtaking. The room was beautiful: large, clean, and with a nice size... More

We stayed at the Schloss Hornberg in September with a group of friends as part of a classic car tour and immediately found it to exceed our expectations. Its location affords fantastic views over the town and surrounding area. This can be enhanced by asking for the keys to the old castle where upon climbing up the tower you find... More
