Stayed here for 1 night in July. Rather brusque attitude at reception, far from welcoming. Room was small, but had a really nice modern bathroom. It was a very hot day and night and although there was a fan provided in the bedroom it was extremely hot and difficult to sleep. Fridge was out of order so no cold drinks... More

Overall good first impression on arrival but found room too dark and dust laden in parts. The fridge was 'out of order' and there was no wardrobe. Restaurant pleasant but response to an undercooked chicken dish was dismissive and unapologetic. Otherwise food pretty good.

This restaurant is in a charming villa with views over the garden, and conveniently almost opposite the Pasteur museum. Service was pleasant and impeccable but I wasn't quite as impressed with the meal as last time: we had the menu du marche but the main course had run out and we were offered an alternative in which the meat was... We have eaten here before and would rate the restaurant excellent, but this was our first stay in the hotel section. We had the distinct impression that this is run on a shoestring. The restaurant sommelier was in charge and I think it was his wife serving breakfast and also cleaning the rooms. The reception desk appears to have very... More

We had a 4-course set dinner for 39.50 and a 5-course set dinner for 49 euros, both with a choice of starters and main courses. The food was amazing, real fine-dining with canapés, amuse-bouches and "trou normand" (palate cleanser, pear ice-cream in plum liqueur). They had an extensiive selection of wine by the glass and the sommelier was very nowledgeable,... More

We spent a night at les Caudalies recently. Good room with all facilities, very clean room with a comfortable bed. We had booked for dinner and arrived in the restaurant at 20.00h. A short wait of 10 minutes to get a drink and very nice canapes. More time and we gave our order. A little more time and we had... More

Delightful ambience: a formal dining room with white table cloths, black-suited waiters (the only false note is the maddeningly inappropriate cheap synthetic music). The most exquisite professional service, formal but warm, elegant but never stiff, friendly but never obsequious. Every contact with the attentive staff was a pleasure - all the more remarkable as the guests ranged from formally attired... More

We haven't stayed here but sampled the restauranrt two years ago and again this year. With the possible exception of the Michelin establishment up the road which we haven't tried, I'd say this raises the standard for dining in the immediate area. Parking in the hotel forecourt is restricted but Les Caudalies is easily accessible on foot from anywhere in... More

We had a lovely stay in the Pasteur room. Nice decor, pretty location -- a bit of a walk to the town square, but not unreasonable. We didn't try the restaurant, opting to go the Jeunet instead (see separate review). The grounds, which stretch down to the river below, are pretty but somewhat unkempt. Free wireless internet, although you have... More

We stayed one night en route at Les Caudalies in Arbois which is the main town of the Jura region. It is a fascinating little town almost in the Alps although I have to say le vin jaune which is the regional speciality did not exactly inspire me- it was horrible reminiscent of those nasty oxidised wine that the Communist...
