I stayed over on 8.7.13 and was most disappointed. An unloved and neglected place that is overrated. One could say its a case of 'Misrepresentation' when looking at the picture advertising it. I too disliked the obvious neglect, full ashtrays, long gloomy corridor until you eventually reached your room, which is shabby - the cool box/fridge in my room was... More

Thankfully we stayed at this "4 star" "hotel" only one night and that was enough. We are not difficult people but that was just terrible. There's only 3hours that the reception is open for check ins but you still have to call someone to come help you.At least the woman that works there which seems to be the only person working in... Pros: beautiful setting, ample free parking, quiet location, nice grounds with lake and trails. The lady at the front desk, Neel was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Cons: Rooms are 2 star level. Everything is a bit worn and outdated. Our safe was locked and they couldn't open it for us. Old box tv (no remote!), nothing matched in decor...it looked... More

We have just spent a long week-end in this hotel which, I agree, is a bit overrated and this is probably its biggest problem. The 4 stars, its price and the nice location plus certain statements in the publicity create some expectations. If if was a cheap 2 or maximum 3 stars hotel, the deal of getting an outdated bedroom... More

Some very positive and very negative reviews here on tripadvisor. The truth, in my humble opinion, lies in the middle. We stayed 1 night in July for a romantic getaway, with a groupon deal for 1 night + dinner in the castle. The good + We were greeted and helped by a very pleasant lady who did her utmost to... More

I was looking to have a quiet vacation in nature. Knowing in advance that this summer was rainy and unpredicted, we were looking for a quiet place with spoiling indoor. The website seemed nice and the term luxariuse rooms bought us all. They even mention we could get bikes to travel around, get spa treatments and have cooking lessons if... More

We visited this hotel when we where touring with another couple through Belgium. The only positive thing about this hotel is that we got our money back and could leave! Their website is a total fake all the so called arrangements like a spa treatment or a nice dinner are situated in another village. When we arrived we could not... More

We went to this hotel with two couples, and i totally agree with the two other posters, this hotel is beyond horrible. Incredibly rude staff, deceptive also. The rooms are dirty and according to the staaf the 4 star ranking outside refers to another hotel and this is 2 stars. We left to another hotel!

My wife and I stopped and spent 2 nights at the Hotel D'Aertrycke on our way to Amsterdam. We were in this area of Belgium mostly to visit Brugge. We had a rental car so making the 15-20 minute drive to Brugge each morning was not a problem. The hotel is a little hard to find, but that was a... More
