The husband and wife team running the hotel make for a welcoming approach to all guests, nothing is too much trouble and the customer is always first priority. A good continental style breakfast, we didn't eat dinner at the hotel

I have stayed at The Ambassador several times since my original review in 2009, and I still stand by everything I said then. It's a lovely family-run hotel, clean, well-appointed, comfortable, convenient, and most of all, welcoming. Fabulous breakfast buffet. And De Panne is a lovely stop after passing through 'Darkest England' (and a bit of France!), on a trans-GB-continental-Wales-to-Germany... More

We had a lovely two night stay here. We had a suite which was very clean and well appointed. There is no tea/coffee tray but this is a three star hotel. We paid for the parking as it expensive to park on the street and there are frequent traffic wardens if you go over time. The owner and his wife... More

Always very friendly and welcoming the hotel is on main road but not in the centre of town. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast good. The trams do run outside and can be noisy but they dont run all night. It has private parking and is well situated for that dash to the ferry next morning. It is not cheap... More

I've stayed here twice and enjoyed it both times. Family run and it shows, really nice couple who make sure you have what you need. I stayed in April and September so technically off season for this seaside town so I guess it was a lot quieter than summer months, both the hotel and the town so I found it... More

Main reason for poor rating is the noise from the street in the rooms, especially the trams. They run until late at night and from very early in the morning. Positive - Recently refurbished - Close to the beach - Decent breakfast (but no fresh juices and low quality coffee) - Playroom next to the restaurant is good for kids... More

We booked 2 rooms for my husband's 50th birthday trip. The rooms were lovely and well presented. The breakfast was extensive and more than enough selection for all 4 of us to choose from. We didnt eat any other meals there so cannot comment on those. The bar was cosy and served by the owner with a nice personal touch... More

The right place to be if you are looking for a hotel which is "baby friendly" ! This family owned hotel is really geared towards family holidays. The owner told us that some of the residents booked in every year ! They have a whole corner with toys for the small children and they can be left there safely whilst... More

We've just got back from a 2 night stay with our two children. Really nice hotel - clean, modern, comfortable rooms (we had a suite type room - with kids in one part, us in the other). Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast and great location - very near the beach. Another review mentioned that the tram runs right outside... More

We spent one night at this hotel. We had a lovely corner room with lots of windows. Our hosts were very helpful with directions, etc. The free breakfast was the best of our whole 3 week trip! Very nice hotel, centrally located. Definitely stay here if you're traveling to De Panne!
