I go to Diest frequently to visit extended family, and we have been to The Lodge for dinner, for drinks, and we have toured the facility in many of the rooms and corridors. The Lodge is a place of Vlaamse pride in Diest. The Lodge was totally renovated some years ago, and it is perfectly Vlaamse! The food is good... More

Quite central yet rather isolated location. If it is your first visit to Diest, give it some time to go round and then you will be able to easily find the hotel after a day out. My room was rather dark but there are lights at the table and beside the bed. Also roof of the room was rather low... More

Have stayed here several times now on business travel and it is very comfortable with very obliging staff who are on hand to help but not interfering The breakfast selection is good so be sure to leave sufficient time to enjoy!

I stayed at this hotel one weekend in May 2013, it was my first visit there and I found the receptionist friendly and the hotel was clean and attractive, if not flashy. I had a room on the top floor (the ceiling was sloped), which was smallish and not too brightly lit, but on the good side I got a... More

The hotel is beautiful from the outside. We checked in fine, nice lady on reception, unfortunately she omitted to tell us when breakfast finished so we missed it. The lady we spoke to at reception about breakfast the next morning basically laughed at us for daring to think we could possibly want to eat the breakfast we'd paid for..!! The... More

No where to park (you have to park on the street and pay and then, depending where you park drag cases across cobbled paths), tucked away in Diest somewhere, part time staff, just a place to sleep. Old, very interesting building but the rooms are very basic and there is nothing in the hotel apart from breakfast. Reception part time.... More

We recently stayed in this hotel for 1 night and it was not the best experience. We stayed here because it was on our way home after a festival that ended late. We wanted to sleep a bit longer in the morning but this was really impossible. Already at 7:30 the noise started: slamming doors, shouting in the corridors, loud... More

This is the first hotel that I ever stayed in where my check-in didn't involve a person at reception. Since I arrived on a Sunday after 13:00, there is no one there so you have to go in using a password which they provide you in advance to key in at the door. I went in and found on the... More

This Hotel is located in the centre of Diest, close to several restaurants and bars. There are two 'halves' of the Hotel with different character. The old building has large character rooms with nice unique features and bathrooms. The newer building has standard hotel rooms with airconditioning , nice modern bathrooms and desk area. There is no restaurant or bar... More

Second year that we stay here during the annual Oldtimer Fly In. A really superb place with an equally superb atmosphere. The staff is so helpful and friendly. We feel very much at home. Did we mention the breakfast? Do yourself a favour and take all the time to enjoy this.
