I think one has to look at the whole package when going to a place like this. Thus, there are a few negative points I need to mention, but overall- would I go there again? Yes, most definitely. This is one of those places I would go back to over and over if I could. Our decision to stay across Halstatt lake at the Haus Am See in Obertraunn was a great one in our opinion. Particularly when we went into Hallstatt for a day and saw people hauling their luggage around town since no cars are allowed.... more
I stayed in the Hotel Haus am See from Oct. 19 to Oct. 21. I was given room #2 before being moved to room #3 to accomodate a group coming in the next day. My room was a double with a private shower/toilet, tv, closet and a balcony overlooking the outdoor patio and with a fantastic view of Lake Hallstatt.... more
