Since extending and renovating existing rooms last year this hotel has become very comfortable. Good sized comfortable rooms, large terrace with room number 5, great views and smallish but very modern shower room. Enjoyed our stay and will return.

After leaving a Health Center, which we thought was a conventional Hotel. We drove across the street to this cute typical little Austrian Town. It was what we needed, We drove around till we realized that we could park the car and walk. You always get to know a place like this by visual braille than from a car or bus. We saw the Hotel Goiserhof and checked it out. We asked to see a room. Couldn't have been better. We loved the town and the guest house/Hotel. To the north, Hallstatt had been nightmarish with claustrophobic congestion, and this was just the what we needed. We stayed a few days longer than we planned because of the charm and ease of getting around. The afternoon lunches with local beer are fantastic and not high priced. At the bakery, you have to go in and ask the rear restaurant's locations. They will take you the few steps. Don't be in a hurry. A couple other caveats: It helps to understand at least a little German. They will help you if you really have problems. Ok, then read the posted opening and closing times on the door of all businesses. They mean it, and they are most all different. Other than that, sit back, relax and enjoy. 5 stars for coziness and friendliness.…

Spacious rooms albeit with very small cramped and basic bathroom. Nice location in centre of Bad Goisern. Restaurant attached with good selection of good. Free parking in locked garage for bikes. Breakfast buffet rather average of plenty of choice. But good for short stay.

Easy short train ride to Hallstatt (at Hallstatt station take boat across lake to Hallstatt). Take the Obertraun gondola lift and hike the mountain trails, see ice caves. Great breakfast. Short walk to train station.

We have just returned from one night in this hotel on 1st September 2007. We came to town for the Austrian Scottish bag piping competition. At 64€ at night seemed a nice, cheap option. The hotel looks OK from the outside. Inside, it looks a little run down and tired. What made us unhappy is that the bedsheets were covered in black hair. They were obviously not changed for one night. There was nobody around to get the sheets changed when we noticed it late at night so we had to sleep in the bed! The funny thing is that we saw clean sheets in the hallway next day. I have read about unchanged sheets in hotels before but never believed it or experienced it.
