We booked through a travel agent as part of a longer cycling tour and stayed 3 nights having half board. Rooms and location ok. Food austrian experimental - ok for adults but a nightmare for children. THE woman at the reception under tension at any occassion. Not easy to enjoy. My conclusion if you don't speak German and have kids:... More

I called the hotel to book the room and a lady answered the phone. Everything was fine until i asked 'If we book it directly with you could you offer discount' then she went mental. Started shouting etc... It wasn't a very good first impression but we booked it anyway cuz it looked nice and very well located. When we... More

I stayed for one night, booked at the last minute. The room was very nice, restaurant was good but nothing special, the staff were excellent although i didnt meet the lady a few reviewers mention. I was on a motorbike and i was told to move it to right outside the main entrance which i though was very good of... More

Nice views, good sized bedroom/ bathroom, excellent food (we were on half board) a great introduction to the Salzkammergut. We found the female proprietor to be somewhat abrupt -as did others staying at the same time as us and earlier reviewers..Her attitude did not spoil our stay but given the high quality of the food it was more a talking point of some... This hotel is very efficiently run by Andrea, and has the added benefit of Sauna, steam room and outside/inside swimming pool. The location in St. Agatha, (we visited in Summer-early sept) is perfect for walking holidays, and a taste of the real Austria, more commercially oriented holiday makers may feel a little away from tourist attractions without a little travel.... Althout the competition is not fierce we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food in the hotel restaurant. We stopped by on Sunday evening and ordered medium rare lamb with polenta, fresh fish and pork medaillons with pepper sauce. All meals were outstaning and I would definitelly come back to try other options. We ended up paying... More

We stayed at this hotel three nights, paid extra for balcony room with mountain view which was well worth it. Great to wake up to sunshine on the Alps and birds singing. Nice size room and bathroom, refreshing small heated pool, with comfortable chairs on the lawn to enjoy the sun. Plentiful breakfast included; we also ate dinner there several... More

Friends informed us that at the Agathawirt you can have a really nice "Beuschel" (made of veal). Even Austria's president comes here to have this special dish when visiting this part of Austria. Since my friend loves Beuschel we went there. We others had something different. Mushrooms with dumplings, walnut gnocchi and artichoke filled with risotto. The latter two dishes... More

We stayed here with our two teenage sons as part of a cycling holiday in the Salzkamergut. We were given a very warm and friendly welcome and shown our rooms. The rooms were of a good size with everything we needed. The bathroom was a reasonable size with shower, basin and WC, hair drier and decent amount of shelf space... More
