Our small family group spent a very enjoyable week at the Hotel Alpina in Feb 2015 . We picked the hotel originally because it had the single rooms we needed for some of the party. Highlights were the pool & sauna which were well equipped and clean, and the food - breakfast and dinner were good all week. The bedrooms... More

Stayed here for a week on my own, and had a very good time. It was excellent value for money, and very friendly and well-run. I had booked the nearby Tauernblick, owned by the same family, but they had no free single rooms so I instead stayed in the Alpina itself - where Tauernblick guests eat and can use the... More

A shining example of the Austrian hospitality, the property boasts everything a most testidious middle-class, medium-age, family-oriented guest may demand: multilanguage staff, excellent service, nice food, reasonable-quality rooms, a small but cosy swimming pool, a stone's throw distance from the town center and sports facilities, you name it..The ideal place for a family with kids to spend time in winter... The staff was pleasant, but no one went out of their way. One disappointing thing was that the pool seemed colder than advertised and smoking was permitted in the hotel lobby and sitting room. The rooms are a bit outdated and the mattress was also not very comfortable. At dinner, the wine was better than the food, but the breakfast... More

Alpina Hotel is a typical family run hotel in the Austrian mountains and is not one of the newest hotels. We stayed at one of the hotel anexes, called villa Frosin, which looked like a fairy tale house. Rooms were nothing to rave about, bathrooms absolutely tiny that I could barely fit into the shower and I did hit myself... More

We have just returned from a group Ski holiday staying at the Alpina. This is our second visit and they have a new Manager although still owned by the family who have run it for years. It is a great place to stay, a few minutes’ walk to the Ski lifts ( or catch the ski bus). There is an... More

How refreshing to have a friendly manager in an Austrian hotel who makes a fuss of English guests as well as returning Austrian s . Night life is non existent but if you want to relax in a nice clean sauna and eat good food with good wine this is the place for you. 2 tips firstly the rooms in... More

Great traditional family run ski hotel. Good facilities for skies and boots with the ski bus just outside. Very nice bar and lobby area with an excellent complimentary after ski buffet. Very helpful and service minded staff. Good food. Especially nice was the calm atmosphere in the restaurant despite the hotel being completely full. (It is not a jet-set place.)... More

The SportHotel Alpina largely lives up to its 4 star rating, but in my opinion the en-suite bathroom falls quite a long way short of that high standard. So to start with the good points: The hotel location is excellent, the ski bus stops within about 100 yards of the front door; boot locker leads straight onto the road and... More
