Overall a lovely week spent at the Vongdeuan Resort. Arrived by taxi from BKK as were pushed for time, and the free ferry departed just after 1.30pm. Check in was on the mainland, so once you arrived on Samet, your room and key were already ready for you. Staff all nice, some do not understand English, free wi-fi, sometimes patchy... More

The resort is relaxing and our standard double room was in a tropical garden. The breakfasts were included and were more than adequate. The maintenance around the pool made it quite noisy. The pool was the best maintained one we came across. Unfortunately there was no poolside bar. Our room was a semi-detached bungalow. Our neighbours very noisy day and... More

This resort is a bit far from the northern main pier of the island. Taxi price was quoted at 200 THB, but we chose to walk. It was a hot day, and I would not recommend walking unless you take it as sport activity. The hotel has its own boat transfer from/to Ban Phe, but when we took a bus... More

Had a one night trip to this resort from Bangkok. Everything else seems to be OK when it comes to this standard resort. But why save in the standard of beds? I weigh over 100 kgs and as the there is only one rock hard mattress in the room I woke up every 45 minutes every bone hurting. Keeping your... More

We spent 7 nights at Vongdeuan Resort in a cottage bungalow. We enjoyed our stay very much. The surroundings is just perfect, small huts with privacy and peace just at the beach. Everything is so close and you can literally leave your shoes, wallet and watch away! The resort has very good quality cottages with ac - fridge and coffee... More

I thought this hotel was just okay based on the price range. Our room was a decent size. We had one of the Thai houses and it was clean and spacious enough. There were lots of mosquitoes so make sure you have some spray. The breakfast buffet is good and dinner at the hotel was quite nice, although service is... More

Checked in yesterday. Rude receptionist. No safe. Not our problem said the staff... Standard room booked but should be SUB STANDARD. worst hotel I've stayed in whilst travelling thailand. Over priced dirty. Rude staff. " restaurant" is a tent. Awful place. Mosquitos everywhere gaps under doors. Hear every noise from next room Cannot advise strongly enough to stay away from... More

If you're lucky enough to be staying in Thai House 6, that is! The Thai Houses are traditional wooden bungalows, full of character. No 6 is the best - right on the beach, so you can see the sunrise from your bed! The resort is very conveniently situated on Ao Vong Duan beach - lovely bars and restaurants just a... More

The location of this resort is a happy medium not too crowded or remote. Free ferry to resort from Ban Phe is fine but always runs late at it takes all supplies to island at same time. Our room was standard category and was fine for us 100m back up hill away from noisy restaurant and construction. Dont forget your... More
