Upon arriving to the Island after travelling on the old dingy boat, the boat stopped about 10m from the shore and we were all required to walk in the water (only though height) to the land. A park ranger charged us 300baht (nowhere mentioned by hotel office staff on mainland) for "recreational park fees" while we watched our luggage get... More

We visited the Vongdeuan resort a couple of years ago and found it to be in need of some TLC. We did enjoy the resort and the bay, so when it came to another holiday in Thailand we decided to give the VDR another try, we stayed in a cottage, which was very nice, well presented and maintained to a... First impression wasn't that good. Pool isn't what we expect it to be, bacause between two construction, and the front office service not so polite but that's usual for tourist places like this. Also we came from bangkok where we had 4star hotel with good value and paid 10€ less per night but you really can't compare. And the bed... More

At first we stayed at a Thai house, but then they were fully booked so we changed to a Deluxe, which was nicer although it was cheaper. The Deluxe was cleaner and neater, with a nicer bathroom, and we couldn't really understand why the Thai house was more expensive. Anyway, I would recommend the deluxe over the Thai house in... Ko Samet is a beautiful Island and is a National Park. The Vongdeuan Resort is on a lovely white sandy beach and the sea is like stepping into a wonderfully clear bath. It is so warm. The reception desk is on the beach. The rooms are all in separate chalets, mainly for two people but they do have adjoining rooms... More

I'm here as I write this and one of the positives is that the wifi works well around the resort. We got here yesterday and the place is very pleasant and in a nice location. The breakfast was good with the mixture on the buffet for all persuasions. The thing letting this place down as far as I can see... More

Vongdeuan Resort has some renovation works to their restaurant at the moment. The make shift tent/marquee restaurant still served excellent Asian food (we didn't try any western food) and the staff were friendly, professional, and organised as usual. We had an unfortunate incident of 6000 baht cash stolen from a bag. I felt very stupid as I know leaving money... More

After agonizing and agonizing on what accommodation to book having been to Koh Samet 10 years ago (Vongdeuan Beach had nothing on it in those days), I eventually, thanks to a special on Sawadee, decided on Vongdeuan Resort. It was a very close toss up between them and Vongdeuan Villa. So glad we didn’t book Villa. A couple of no... More

This resort is located at a quieter part of the island. My wife and I got the Cottage room and it was clean and basic. The aircond was a relief after a long day out at the beach. You get two small bottle of water daily in the room & there is also a stocked fridge with some soft drinks... More
