A close friend had recommended me to this place but it was not quite what I expected. We booked 8 nights and decided to only stay for 7. Be aware that it is a local island so loads of thai people come on for the weekends. I couldn't believe the transformation of the island, I much preferred the quiet, calm... More

I can only review the disco as i wasnt staying in the resort, we stumbled across this disco on our second night as we followed a group of ladyboys screaming on a bus on the way to the event, We had the time of our lives, A bucket of mojito went down well as we watched the fire dance boys... More

Silver Sand resort on Koh Samet island is one of the most popular hotels with local Thai people, so when you stay there you are surrounded by friendly and welcoming people. The weekends are very popular and night club at the beach attracts a lot people to enjoy few drinks and dance in very enjoyable environment. There is nightly "fire... More

Silver Sand seems to be a collection of rooms built around their disco. It is everything that a beach resort shouldn't be: Loud, abrasive and unfriendly! There isn't even any point reviewing the rooms because the Silver Sand disco blaring music until 3am every night makes the stay here unbearable! Even if the disco is empty, they refuse to turn... service at this "resort" is near the bottom low mark. It seems they have gone out of their way to find the worst possible and rudest staff. absolutely not open to feedback - when pointing out a rat hovering around the kitchen area, the response was a smile and "oh, its ok..." majority of the crowd staying at this hotel... The room was pretty much ok, good standard, but the rest, OMG. The staff is not friendly at all, it's all about bath in this place. The breakfast was inedible! But you can not sleep, because the music from their own club, is sooooooo loud and only stops in the morning when it starts to get light!!! Really not a... More

Make no bones about it, this is a basic hotel. It's clean (by the Thai definition of clean), but the rooms are in need of refurbishment. Staff were OK - neither friendly nor rude. They were certainly more friendly/helpful to anybody who at least tried to speak Thai than those who only spoke English or Russian. For the money (THB2100,... More

Booked this hotel over the Christmas period, Koh Samet is an island we like very much. The hotel was very reasonably priced and the location was good, it seems like there have been extra units added and the resort was quite crowded. Our unit, which thankfully was away from the beach, was basic but comfortable, the lack of hot water... More

All I can say is that this is probably the worst service we have ever got. My and my wife made a last minute decision to go to Samed after New Years. There weren't much choices as everything else was booked but I remembered the name Silver Sand from some friends so I decided to call and try our luck.... More
