This place is one of the nicer resorts on the main beach (had sai kaew) however the service we found was average. Some staff spoke no English at all. The restaurant food is pretty awful (though the views are nice by the beach). Would not recommend eating at the restaurant at all except for breakfast where you can get a... More

Samet is great for a short break - beautiful white sand beaches and plenty of fresh sea food - but is too small and lacks the sophistication for a longer holiday. Sai Kaew beach resort is probably the nicest hotel on the island, but simply does not reach the standard of similarly priced hotels on Samui or Phuket. The breakfast... More

Good location with own beautiful beach. Friendly staff, sometimes a little hard to catch (especially at the beach). Room to expensive for what you get, the whole day speedboats in front of the beach.... And an easy sun downer turns every night in a children playground ( the positive side is, that most parents stay during the day with their... More

We were three couples ( in the early seventies) having rooms in the Bungalows in the garden. Arrived Ban Phe by own car. Very impressed by the people and the new reception there. The parking was covered and we felt very safe parking the car there. There are three departures a day with the boat. We went 12.30. The transport... More

Got taken to the wrong pier by a 'knowledgeable' local taxi driver which was a bit of a distant away from where the free ferry leaves and as a consequence had to pay over the odds for a speedboat. No ticket issued just a card given which was supposed to guarantee a return trip which of course it did not.... More

First time travellers to Koh Samet, we had no idea what to expect but had been told by local Bangkok friends that the island is pretty simple, popular for locals more so than overseas tourists, and anything goes. Well, all of that was true. Koh Samet is by no means a luxury destination. The town is very simple, the local... More

Loved this resort. Beautiful grounds, pools and rooms. Loved the bar service around the pool and the happy hour cocktails down by the beach. The only negative was perhaps the service in the restaurant but by Thailand standards this was still very good. Location is great, bars and restaurants all around.

We arrived in a speed boat at around 5:30pm... There is a reason why the last boats go out at 5pm. The sea gets a bit rough after 5pm. So we were soaked wet from the waves and the captain of the boat let us out of the boat about 10m in front of the shore, thank god the water... More

Sai Keaw Beach Resort is a nice place to visit with the family. Clean beach and environment and rooms are well designed and built. We stayed in the premier room which has a less beach feeling to it. If you are looking for the bungalow on the beach experience, then check out the beach villas, but be prepare to pay... More

We stayed for three nights to chill out after a busy tour. A well-worn ferry chugs over from the mainland, then a bumpy ride in a pick-up from pier to resort makes you wonder if it's really going to be 4-star. Don't worry. The location is great, with a private section of a long white sand beach and inviting warm... More
