From as soon as we booked Sally e-mailed us keeping in touch right up to when we arrived. Upon arrival both Sally and Roger made us feel very welcomed. Their farm is set in beautiful surroundings and extremely peaceful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would go back again. We can certainly understand why so many people choose to... More

Great location with beautiful scenery and wildlife, wonderful walks with rolling hills. Very welcoming friendly hosts, Sally and Robert who made our stay as comfortable as possible. We were in a great midway point to lots of POI (Alnwick Castle, Cragside, Beach, Bamburgh Castle, Warkworth Castle .. to name a few) would recommend to anyone that would like a break... More

We booked Garden Cottage for a short break after some last minute internet searching. We feel very lucky that we did. The cottage was warm, well furnished and thoughtfully equipped. Everything was spotlessly clean. The setting is very peaceful with views over rolling hills. Dark, silent nights and a comfortable bed meant a good night's sleep. Sally and Robert were... More

just a short visit as last minute thing for bank holiday weekend. Smashing cottage with plenty of amenities available. great owners - ideal position for surrounding areas and Northumberland in general. Alnwick has plenty of places to eat and variety abounds - might need to book with the more popular places like Yans. Hopefully be back again for longer this... More

We spent a week at this well equipped,,comfortable cottage, that seemed to have everything we needed. Saw a Hare in the field behind. Good position geographically to get to Alnwick, beaches, plenty of castles, the national park, all not too far away. Nice welcome from owners, a nice touch of some lovely flowers. Parking there is easy. Wii fii wasn't... More

Thank you for your review. You point out that "wifi wasn't great bit sporadic". This is indeed the case - we can do emails, research, etc, but are not SuperFast yet. Our village and surrounding area have been actively campaigning to be upgraded. Until then we remain a "get away from it all" location. Sally Lee More

My Wife and I spent a week at the Garden Cottage in early August. The Cottage was very well equipped and in a superb location, with wonderful views of the countryside. An ideal place if you want peace and quiet, and easy access to the coastal Villages, including Holy Island

We really enjoyed our trip to Lumbylaw. Don't be put off by the lack of interior photos, it was well maintained and very comfortable. The owners were friendly and welcoming. The scenery from every window was beautiful. We loved the new calves and other wildlife on the doorstep. Our only criticism is that there isn't wifi throughout the cottage as... More

We have just enjoyed an amazing 4 night stay at Lumbylaw Farm. The cottage was beautiful and the views just couldn't be better. It was a fabulous base for our Northumberland holiday, allowing easy access to a host of interesting castles, historic houses and great beaches. If you ask our children though the very best part of the holiday was... More

A very good base to view the area from , we were only there for a few days but enjoyed our stay very much, Holy Island, Alnwick, Cragside plenty to see with a short drive. We stayed in Garden Cottage the one bedroom unit, which was very clean and tidy with plenty of informative leaflets for the area. If you... More

There are two cottages at Lumbylaw farm and I cannot think of a more magic setting. The cottages are outstandingly well equipped, warm and comfortable but it is the view that is so memorable. Set on a high ridge you can see about thirty miles in all directions on a clear day. Lumbylaw is a working farm so cattle may... More
