We arrived after a very long drive from Westport (via Greymouth) and didn't have a booking. Our room was large, modern and comfortable. No complaints. I love when a motel room has separate toilet with a door! Very short walk to town for dinner (Robbie's) and a short chilly walk to/from the Springs. Really enjoyed our stay in town but... More

The three of us just couldn't fault the Aspen Lodge. From the map of Hanmer with a tiny ribbon wrapped round it to the free towels to take to the Springs - it was amazing. And all at $100 less than we had spent for a night at the apartment building next door when we visited last time. This will... More

I must say having travelled extensively this property has been one of the most difficult to rate. I travelled with my wife and another adult and hence took a two-bedroom unit. On check-in I advised Merv that I would be leaving early on Sunday morning and hence would prefer to deal with the formalities immediately. I was informed "I am... More

We arrived on a warm day ,were made very welcome and show our room. All you needed in room ,cooker, fridge, microwave plus all the normal things you expect, good size room and bathroom. Water pressure good as well as hot, two heaters in room one for background heater and one fan heater both were excellent as the temperature dropped... More

Being a regular visitor to Hanmer Springs, and many other motels, I just loved all the wee 'extra- touches'. Warm welcome by Host, room already heated and what a lovely view from windows and balcony of No3, overlooking golf course and hospital garden, favourite room. Extra-touches included, cold-water jug in fridge, town map nicely wrapped up, free ChCh Press, wee... More

We just stayed one night here, but we wish we could have stayed longer to explore the area. We had a one bedroom and it was a very comfortable room with a separate sitting area. The kitchen was well-stocked and the room had a lot of extra little touches. We just had time to enjoy the pools for a couple... More

Stayed here for 3 nights in an upstairs room. Not new but clean, spacious and comfortable. Little extras are a lovely touch. Homemade biscuits, boiled sweets, complimentary newspaper, plunger coffee, free wifi. On return from a day out you find homebaked muffins in your room. Toiletries better than other places I stayed on my travels, even had an emery board.... More

This is a lovely quiet motel with comfortable bed and excellent facilities. The owners are friendly and helpful and the home made daily muffins are a treat I've never experienced whilst staying in a motel. It is situated close to the pools, shops and restaurants.

We stayed here for a weekend last year, forgot to review until now oops! It was a lovely weekend and we were really impressed with how helpful the staff were! The bed was MASSIVE, clean quiet room and they have a big selection of DVDs haha and of course the amazing location! The only thing was the price is a... More

This motel was clean and tidy with lots of little extra's like the heaters being on when you arrive and the home baking that you get everyday. Aspen is within short walking distance to not only the hot pools but all the cafe's and restaurants as well. Would definitely stay here again. We stayed in the two bedroom unit and... More
