Requiring a triple room, we found this place fine for our short stay. Toorak Manor is more like a B&B, which is fine for a few days. Located perfectly, it is a very short walk to a railway station & a leisurely stroll to shopping & eating precincts such as Chapel St & Toorak Rd. Whilst the old mansion has... More

Yes, the location is great. Hawksburn station is 2mins away and it was an easy, direct 10-minute walk to Chapel Street. And my room was certainly spacious but it needed a good spring clean and the television reception was so poor I stopped trying to watch after the second of my five nights there. The front desk is manned 8am to... Got a cheap room online and was very disappointed with it. I had stayed there a few years back and it was lovely, so whether we had a basic room I'm not sure. Rooms are spacious but that's about as far as it goes...more like old country hotel accommodation. I would stay there again as the location is good and... More

I have stayed at Toorak Manor half a dozen times, but this is the first time since it has been under new ownership. The location, right near Hawksburn Station and near Chapel Street is fantastic and the convenient parking and free wi-fi are very attractive. The building is quite charming, the staff are very friendly and the price of accommodation... More

Good price but disappointed with cleanliness. Room was far too hot and air conditioning was not up to task of cooling it down even though cold nights. No staff after 6.00 pm. Rag thin towels. Bed at end of life. However the location is great. Double glazing kept noise out. Desk staff lack basic skills in hospitality.

Booked this place purely on price and will stay again based on value for money. Free car parking, free wifi & a very basic continental breakfast included in price. Quiet, olde style accomodation. Staff very helpful and friendly. Two minutes walk to Hawksburn Railway Station. I will be back. See you there!

We had to book a Hotel at the last minute as our plans had changed suddenly on a trip from the UK. This was the only reasonably cheap hotel we could find in Melbourne at short notice. We booked a triple room for my husband and I and our 13 year old Daughter. When we arrived I was horrified, it... More

We stayed years ago and thus came again- sadly it has gone downhill rapidly. The staff are reasonable at their job but have no local knowledge, and no warmth, breakfast is poor. This gorgeous Victorian Manor has been put to the sword. Add to this the decor needs a freshen up- badly worn carpets etc and we won't bother again

Booked a double room - there were no photos of the ACTUAL room which was at the top of the manor up narrow stairs away from other rooms. Was not period furnishings but worn out 1980's/90/s chairs, the single bedroom had no bedspread. The main bedroom had such a neglected isolating feeling and I left without spending the entire night... More

Location is good if Chapel St is your scene. It's close to two trams and a train station. It's very naff, very dated, etc. We were in room 19 which was in desperate need of a paint job and a make over in general. It was relatively clean, could have been better. Free parking! Common areas again naff, etc. Customer... More
