I booked at the last minute for the 23rd December on my way to Skye. From the moment I arrived everyone was very helpful and welcoming. The single room was nice, modern and very comfortable - I had a great night's sleep after a long day. The next morning, I needed a quick breakfast before heading off to get the... More

The Marine Hotel is located in the centre of the little harbour village of Mallaig. It is less than five minutes walk from the ferry to Skye and the Small Isles and adjacent to the railway station. It is also within a couple of minutes walk of some nice restaurants, coffee shops and gift shops. The rooms in the hotel... More

Second stay in a month to this hotel. It's clean and welcoming, no facilities but it doesn't boast to have any, maybe overpriced but rooms are first class and clean. Very poor water pressure so don't look forward to a great shower. Staff are helpful and breakfast is very good. Recommended bars for food and drink are The Steam Inn... More

Was a bit worried with reviews here after booking this hotel. I worried over nothing. We stayed on a Friday night, room was comfortable and overlooked the bar downstairs. Did not hear a thing and I am prone to hearing the slightest sound! Breakfast was gorgeous and the staff were lovely and really helpful. The only negative I would have... More

I have stayed at the Marine Hotel in the past and every aspect was much improved on previous visits. There wasn't much wrong in the past for a basic hotel but the new reception, re-decorated rooms and new staff were a very pleasant surprise.

Stayed at the Marine Hotel for one night after travelling up on the west Highland railway and before departing on the ferry to Skye. From previous reviews I wasn't sure what it was going to be like however I needn't have worried. The hotel itself us a stones through from both the train station and the ferry terminal. The lady... Big, big changes since I was here 4 years ago. Inside completely renovated, staff really enthusiastic and helpful. I had to leave early so they made up a good packed lunch to have for breakfast. I will certainly return to stay on my next Mallaig trip. I arrived late at night and lefty early in the morning so cannot really... More

I was warmly greeted by first lady at the Marine Bar who led me to the entrance and then the really lovely receptionist who was so eager to help. She had great customer service which was really nice for me a woman travelling on my own. The room was modern, clean and comfortable. I had an excellent night sleep and... More

This hotel boasts an enviable location in the centre of Mallaig which is a stunning location worth seeing. The hotel room itself was freshly decorated with new carpets and was very comfortable. Unfortunately the hotel doesn't have much to offer other than that and the attached pub was closed by 2130. An enjoyable stay albeit overpriced...staff were pleasant and Diane... More
